Star Trek Online beta opens

Open beta kicks off ahead of release
The open beta test for Star Trek Online kicks off today, Namco Bandai has confirmed.

The beta, which runs until January 26, allows fans with valid open beta keys can explore the online Star Trek universe ahead of the full game's release in a few weeks time.

"We are thrilled to give open beta access to fans as we draw nearer to the official release of Star Trek Online," said exec producer Craig Zinkievich of the launch. "We are looking forward to the launch of our first-of-a-kind MMORPG with anticipation and excitement and we expect Star Trek Online to explode onto the scene, giving fans and gamers a Star Trek experience like no other."

Information about where to obtain open beta keys can be found on the official Star Trek Online website, the publisher says.

The full game's due out on February 2 with a host of pre-order goodies.

What "Open Beta" ,if you need to preorder to get into that "Open Beta" . It sounds to "Payed beta" more than Open beta... come on lol

yer. Not really "open beta". More so "Pre-order and we'll let you try it out now".

Cheers cvg for that fleeting moment of excitment. Mad

If you can't get a beta key and you don't want to pre-order, you can always hit the Art Institute open house on Jan. 18 and play the game for free.
