Major Nelson has dropped an update that lists what games are going On Demand (some for cheap too) and what special offers you can look forward to seeing on Xbox Live for the rest of the month.
"To help your with your planning, I am happy to share with you with a release schedule for the next couple of weeks for some of the regular Xbox Live Marketplace features," says the Major.
Here's the list:
Xbox Live Deal of the Week January 18: Mass Effect's Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station, 240 Points each. January 18: Hasbro Family Game Night: Battleship, 400 Microsoft Points. January 25: Portal: Still Alive, 800 Points.

"Starting today, the following Games on Demand are now available for a lower price," he adds listing, BioShock, Saints Row, MX vs. ATV Untamed, Prey and Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution.

Since I don't bother with LIVE at all to date it need not affect me however, doesn't 1200 points seem a bit excessive for "Serious Sam HD" given that it is a touched up version of a game that's man years old now by gaming industry standards and brings nothing new to the table? My two cents' worth at least.
Until the days where Games on Demand are either new releases available on the release date (wasn't that one of the long-term plans for GoD?) or are older games priced at least as low as I could get them for new from any random high street shop, I won't bother with 'em.
And even then, I imagine I'd still prefer having a physical copy and all that comes with it.
How cheap have they become? If they’re a fiver I might have a pop at one, otherwise I’ll still pick up the physical counterparts for about the same price.
Have never purchased any DLC and never will. These 'offers' don't change my mind either.
Charging for download content for a game who's sequel is two weeks from release is seriously unbelievable!!!! I already pay about £15 over the cost of the PC version of a game because it's for a console. I already pay £40 to play online, because... well, I'm still trying to work that one out! And I'm charged for DLC that on a PC is absolutely free because... Microsoft want direct access to my bank account (I presume), can't, so they'll do everything else in their power to get hold of my money. F*ck this company!
If Sony didn't have a sh*t gamepad I'd have jumped ship already. Not that I care for Sony either, I don't, but it's like choosing between being stabbed in the eye with a fork or stabbed in the eye with a spoon. I really need to move back to gaming on the computer. I swear I was a happier gamer back then!
