Fable III is to be shown publicly for the first time at an event in San Francisco next month.
The news comes via a Tweet from Lionhead community man, Sam Van Tilburgh, who said: "I'm writing storyboard summaries for two new #Fable3 videos".
He added: "videos are to come out when we show #Fable3 for the 1st time at an event next month in SF." We'll make sure we get all the news from the scene.
For everything we know on the third Fable (and concept art) read this Fable III preview. It's wicked.
This will hopefully be interesting. I bought the GOTY edition of "Fable II" for 14.99 quid during the Christmas holidays. Haven't even put the disc in my Xbox 360 yet so I'm in no hurry for the third installment to be released. I do look forward to what new ideas and advances may be in the offering.
Agreed, I'm more excited by MS' line up this year than Sony's. Only Heavy Rain, FF13 and maybe GOW3 will be spinning in my blue ray player this year....my xbox on the other hand will probably red ring from the abuse its going to get from Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, Fable 3, Gears 3 (is this a 2010 release?!) and Halo Reach!

I am starting to believe that we'll see Gears 3 in the Winter. If not November/December, then January.
Loved Fable II, but boy did I lose interest in it once I've finished it. I saw no reason to play through it again, and had no desire to either. And I'm not the only person I know suffer from this.
Here's hoping Fable III will rectify this. Maybe put some character diversity in there (good or evil isn't enough for me).

That's generally how I feel about any game I play no matter how well executed it is or isn't.

You must have some exceptions KFD? For me this gen, it has to be Mass Effect and Halo 3 as the games that I've done repeated play-throughs for.
I agree with Marty about Fable 2 though, beautiful and engrossing on my first play-through, yet I can't be bothered to go through it again.
I'm the same with Fable 2, haven't been back to it and I thought the first DLC was a bit small really, so haven't bothered with the other.
But when I was playing it, I was totally immersed and hooked on the game! Only other games that have really done that to me lately have been Twilight Princess and GTAIV.
Started on Bayonetta yesterday. That's one game I will be playing over a few times I'm sure! Just need the housemates and GF to go out for a bit so I can have a few hours of guilt free gaming!
It was big, rather pretty and had a fair amount of content, but didn't think much of the weapons or clothing and I dare not put the disc back in for fear of amassing the GNP of Europe in gold.
For no other reason that to run around and buy everything possible.

Hmm. Well, I suppose there are a few exceptions: "Medieval II: Total War", "Empire: Total War", "CS:Source" are three titles that immediately come to mind. "Fifa 10" may join those ranks again once I finish (if I finish) playing through all the other games I have accrued over the past few months that have yet to be played. That's the heart of the matter you see. "Dragon Age: Origins" has come close but that's because I know myself well enough to know that I'm unlikely to play through such a mammoth game again any time soon once completed, hence one of the reasons why I started multiple characters in short succession to experience some of the different origin stories. Now that I have completed it I'm unsure when I will replay the whole game again, if ever. This ought not to be confused with what I think of the quality of a given game; I consider "Dragon Age: Origins" possibly to be the best game I have played in the past 10 years.
It's not that I don't enjoy playing some games more than once, but there are some things that get in the way. If it's a linear story then enough time needs to pass whereby the story of the game begins to fade from my active memory. If I remember the majority of a game it lessens my commitment to play-through it again as that time can be spent experiencing other stories both in the gaming world and outside of it. For me the story experience is the underlying attraction in just about any game, although a bit of twitch reaction frenetic FPS shooting also has its appeal. This is likely why strategic games in an open world a la "Total War" series and online FPS shooters have managed to draw me back in.
Currently I just don't see there being enough hours in any given day for me to accomplish all of the things that I might like to do. That goes on any given day although I freely admit that I could achieve more on some days than others if I pushed harder - this goes both for games and non-gaming related matters. That means playing through the same games that I still recall fairly vividly often are at a disadvantage compared to other games I haven't played; couple that with the copious amounts of games - even good games - being released these years and it becomes increasingly difficult to "stay on top".
I expect I will increasingly adopt an even more secular approach and pick up only those titles that appeal to me the most and/or those which have such a favourable price, that they are hard to ignore and even if they disappoint haven't been much of a burden on the wallet.
Both ps3 and 360 have some great games coming out this year.
I think sony might struggle to top 2009 where they owned microsoft for exclusives. Heavy rain doesn't interest me much, god of war 3 does though. GT5 will do well to even come out this year i reckon(i'm struggling to think of many others on the ps3 this year so far). Agent sounds interesting, but i've not seen much about it(rockstar don't do bad games).
The 360 lineup does indeed sound better, but a lot can still change this year. But with mass effect 2, halo reach, a new splinter cell game, fable 3, alan wake(if it ever comes out), crackdown 2 etc all coming to the 360, it looks like it could be the 360's year again(we'll see).
