Alan Wake screens in

Nine more shots of a bloke and his torch
Nine more Alan Wake screenshots have appeared on the internet. Get ready for hot flashlight action!

The 360-exclusive is said to be due out in May, 2010, though the PC version sadly looks to have been left in the sidelines.

See the rest of the screenshots, which are via Gamepro, on the Mind Channel 9 blog.

Looks nice and atmospheric, but the screens don't exactly add to the excite-o-meter.

Sickle ftw!

Remedy must be one of the most secretive and guarded Devs out there. The Game is going to be released in a few months time (I hope) and were still getting a few screenshots and maybe 2/3 videos during development time, something pretty incredible in todays market.

Still this is the Remedy way and they may even send out review copies without the ending of the Game just to keep spoilers off the net!

There are a lot of great Games coming next year and I have strong feelings that this could be a very special Game indeed.

Heavy Rain doesn't exactly set of the excite-o-meter either though. But I'm sure you mentioned that you were excited over that.

Looking forward to this.

Looks fantastic and is defo numero uno on my list of hotly anticipated games this year.

I'm pretty sure that I mentioned that I was excited about Alan Wake too - in fact, it's in my 2010 top 5.

All I meant from that post was that the screens are very similar to all the previous ones.

Throw me a frikkin' line, MrPirtniw.

I welcome their approach as my willpower might not be strong enough to be able to avoid news on this, ME2 and Heavy Rain at the same time!

I would pre-order this now, but I'm sure there'll be a CE announced in a couple of months. Very Happy

I like the way they are being so secretive over this. It's a refreshing change to the usual barrage of willy waving like in a certain other God Of War article.

I would really like Alan Wake to be very good. I just wonder whether reviews are going to give it around 80% on account that it would have been nice to have had more daytime sections.

I'm very excited about "Alan Wake"! Still, thanks to them snubbing the PC crowd I refuse to buy the Xbox 360 version first-hand. I will buy a used second-hand copy; that way I get to experience the game without directly rewarding their behaviour which I disapprove of. Smile

"Mass Effect 2" is my most anticipated game of 2010 in the line of games that I'm aware of. "Alan Wake" comes in at second place.

Disclaimer: If a spectacular low priced deal is offered on a new "Alan Wake" copy I may take it. Value for money is one of my guiding logics where it concerns purchases of just about any kind, and since the perceived offence isn't some form of nasty DRM this won't be a case of complete black listing.

Or more likely, 80% because of dated visuals etc. This is my only concern with the game - I've no doubt it'll be ace, but has it been in development so long that 'State of the Art' stuff that was going on it it is now old hat?

I geniunely don't understand what people are seeing or have heard about this game that makes think this game will be amazing. I think I've read as much everyone else, and I'm sure I've seen the majority of videos or pictures that have been released, but I'm totally underwhelmed.

Usually when there's been a 'buzz' about a new game it's has a reason behind it; a developer who's made amazing games in the same genre, some very clever game mechanics, interesting and original ideas, etc. I don't get this with Alan Wake.

As far as I understand it's a third person game about a writer who's searching for his missing wife in an environment that turns out to be a book he's written or not, whatever. And he uses a torch to kill some of the baddies! Can anyone actually explain what's making them believe this is going to be a special game?
