Ubisoft has given us more details about the pricing and story for the recently announced downloadable content for Assassin's Creed II.
As reported a few weeks ago, there will be two slices of DLC pie - one in January and another in February. Here's the lowdown:
Sequence 12: Battle of Forli End of January - $3.99
Assassin's Creed II Sequence 12: Battle of Forli expands the Assassin's Creed II experience by delivering a missing piece of the storyline. Join Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza to defend Forli from the Orsi Brothers.
Accomplish a daring rescue and prevent the Piece of Eden from falling into the hands of the Templars. Uncover new depths to the historical conspiracy by gaining access to six challenging new memories. Pilot Leonardo's flying machine across Romagna.
Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities End of February - $4.99
A must for Assassin's fans, Assassin's Creed II Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities continues to expand the addictive AC2 universe. Work with Machiavelli to free the city of Florence from the grip of the mad monk Savonarola by targeting influential citizens under his control.
Battle, sneak and free-run your way through more than ten challenging new memories. Discover a new district of Florence, and utilize Ezio's brand new move: the spring-jump.
Both DLC packs are said to represent a pair of sequences that fill in the gaps in Assassin's Creed II's main story. So now you can actually finish it properly.
Yeah, I thought when I played through it that it seemed odd that there were missing memory sections.
It's the way it is now. They develop maps/dlc to give you at cost just weeks after a games release. Smells bad to us gamers, but we still want more from our games and pay it.
ye its become a fad in the gaming world, obviously we all know who is to blame for starting this! Owell, I am abit gutted that all we'l be gettin is the 2 missing sequences, I did expect more in the way of expanding on the finished game! will the dollar prices be converting to british pounds or will it be £3.99 and £4.99 respectively cvg? come on pull your finger out and let us know!
Yeah while I know they are all doing it doesn't make it right. In the rare case stuff had to be removed for disc space or something that's one thing. But simply cutting out chunks of game is immoral.
I personally like to see dlc flesh out side stories or continue on from the end of the game to bridge into the next one.
Failing that we could just have a pope fist fighting dlc spinoff!
Yeah, i'm with you guys, its despicable to just cut things out, no matter how high quality the game is. I do love this game, and will probably play it again sometime in the next few months.
I might however trade it in out of anger, and I am definately not buying the DLC. There really should be a boycott on things like this. We should start one ....
When are we going to get the three levels that were included in the "Black" edition:-
1. Palzzo Medicis 2. Santa Maria Dei Frari 3. bottomnal Shipyard
I'm sure that they said they would be released to everyone.
Did they? Great.
I can't wait for the DLC. You don't need it to complete the game, you can still get all the trophies and 100% without the DLC. Sure it sucks that it didn't come with the game proper, but hey, I'm just happy for more ACII.
I smell a "we just cut this out the main game so we can charge you for it afterwards"
c**ts...
Agreed. Especially as in Venice in the San Marco district (if I remember correctly that being the right one) there is still has a "can't access this memory yet" section right to the very south when you try and cross either of the bridges, and that area still doesn't become available even after you complete the game
Cry a little more about it, I'm sure that will help. It's capitalism. Get over it, or don't download it, in a misguided and whiny attempt to "make a difference". I'm going to download it, play it, and love it. So, take your blankey and tissues, go have a sob session in the corner. Or, grow a pair and live with it. Either way, they win. Period.
