The first PlayStation Home update of 2010 is "imminent" says Sony and it's the one that brings with it a London Pub complete with London prices.
The pub was first revealed last December but the doors are finally about to open.
"Visit Home Estates today to get your own personal London Pub, and become a virtual pub landlord. Priced at €4.99, the London Pub offers a warm fire and comedy beer pumps - and more! - all in a setting on the Thames that overlooks the Houses of Parliament."
Looking at the comments in our original story, there was a lot of grumbles about the price. Anyone actually going to dig deep for a license?
One pint of "no thanks" worst bitter & a packet of "dumb idea" crisps!
I can only hope that the idiot that thought this up was down the pub pi$$ed of their little minds the day they thought this up & unfortunately in the cold light of day they were too hungover to realise what a SAD idea this is!!
Table for one for the looser in the virtual pub please!
The game of darts that comes in the pub could be fun though.
Just a few quid for a darts game that you can play online with your mates whilst chatting to them in PS Home. Not bad... If the pool and bowling alley games were both available in a space for purchase, for say a couple of quid each that would certainly be better than queuing up in the general Home space for a game.
I have a great idea. How about all those who have bought this content form a line to make critisms and sarcastic comments.
Everyone else rest easy with the knowledge that it's optional and you don't have buy it. If you think it's a dumb idea then it obviously isn't for you.
A lot of dumb ideas make money, which is exactly what Home is doing.

Not being funny, but if this was something released on the 360 you'd be slagging it off for all its worth. "Nice to know your gold subscription is being well spent " etc.
Trying to create a community where people can chat and share in gaming and media is a good idea, but trying to replace social arenas (and having the gall to charge for it) seems unwise at the very least - to me, anyway.
Still, there was a story a few days ago about that guy buying a virtual hotel or something for £330k so I'm sure there are quite a few idiots around that will pay for this load of crap.

Er, don't be so sure about that.
Are there any XBL capable / multi-player darts games on the X360?
I can't recall seeing a darts game on the PS3 besides this.
It's a cheap option, but if all premium home spaces start coming out with multi-player games built in then that may warrant a small premium value. A bit like £1.99 budget games back in the 80's.
Another example is the tree / waterfall space that's coming out with a fishing game built in.
