EA's hotly-anticipated Dead Space sequel doesn't have a release date. According to the publisher, the second game will "ship when it's ready".
As well as adopting 3D Realms' worrying strategy for not telling people when your game's coming out (Duke Nukem Forever, anyone?), Dead Space 2 exec producer, Steve Papoutsis, reaffirmed to CVG that he's committed to quality for the follow-up.
"We are focused 100% on quality and making a great sequel to the original Dead Space," Papoutsis said in our Dead Space 2 interview.
"The company is completely behind our team and Visceral Games. The game will ship when it is ready and meets with the teams and Visceral Games high quality standards."
When asked, the EA man also assured us that last year's departure of Visceral heads Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey won't affect the sequel. "It takes a lot more than 2 people to make a great game," he said.
"The entire team did a tremendous job on the original. We are fortunate to have the majority of those folks back on the sequel. I think the work that is happening now is fantastic and surpasses what we did on the original. "
"We are not being held back at all on Dead Space 2 and hopefully people will see that when they get to see more of the game."
I like this comment, sounds like they are taking a leaf out of I.D Software releasing policy "It will be ready when its ready!". E.A really are turning a corner they have some fantastic developers on their books who are producing some great games, long may this continue E.A
Good on EA,take ye time wit this title cause i loved the first. For me id rather a game take ages to develop than rushed cause when it eventually comes out theres no excuse.Just dont do a Too Human haha
