BioWare's released another spectacular-looking Mass Effect 2 video, introducing big, green assassin, Thane.
The game is, to nobodies' surprise, looking fantastic. We've also attached BioWare's movie for psychopathic Krogan, Grunt, which we missed during the Christmas break... because we were drinking lager in our pants.
The full game's out in Europe on January 29. Read our recent Mass Effect 2 interview with BioWare producer Adrien Cho for more.
ParmaViolet, you've a stronger willpower than me. I have stopped reading some articles when I felt they were saying too much but I did end up watching a video, on another site I think, which showed too much – several minutes of gameplay in fact. It didn't actually ruin anything at all, but you're right, it's more enjoyable to see things first time for yourself when you play the game. Good luck staying away from those videos, previews and articles.

I must admit, I'm not usually too fussed - but, when it comes to ME, I think the story is so involving and cleverly done that I just don't want it ruined in any way. Besides, I've got such a huge backlog of games to play that I don't really have the time to watch videos, eat or even sleep!
I have absolutely no doubts that this will end up as a contender for GOTY - the first is a bona-fide classic and I'm sure that the sequel will be infinitely improved on that, BioWare aren't the type to rest on their laurels. I have seen that they've mentioned it as their 'Empire Strikes Back'....that's really all I need to know.
And thus begins what our children will in time call 'The Great Wallet Emptying Epidemic of 2010'.
Count yourself lucky - I'm getting married this year. My wallet hurts like a sonofabitch
Heh heh, been there, done that, and yes...it hurts. Wait till the kids come along!! At the moment it's a toss up as to feed the kids this week or buy Bayonetta. Let's just say it's not looking to hopeful for them.

Mein Gott.....you're playing The Sacred Armour of Antiriad?!? - that was one of my earliest gaming memories - way back on an Amstrad 6128 with a green screen.

Can't afford rent, gotta get hitched, and now I've also got to find the cash for ME2 AND Bioshock2 without a) going broke, or b) letting her indoors spot it.

Sigh.
Well, as my nan always says "you can't take it to the grave with you". You can save and save but what good's it going to do when you're 6 feet under?

Mine's already started, Bayonetta should be on it's way to me in the next day or two. Followed by Mass Effect (so I can then get in to ME2 properly), Bioshock 2. Actually I should get Bioshock first.
And that's discounting Dante's (preferred the bayonetta demo but will pick it up sometime, and probably very cheap) and Splinter Cell. Thank God I don't have a PS3 or I'd have Heavy Rain and MAG to contend with!
And possible Tatsunoko on the wii. Oh and the L4D1/2 DLC, whenever that is going to be released.

I however do have a PS3 as well so include God of War 3. And lets not forgot Alan Wake for Stonecold, who, at this very moment, is rocking backwards and forwards in an upright foetal position.
Ahem! Gentlemen! While one potential solution - which I'm about to present - will not solve the financial (and possibly independence) woes of those of you whom are getting married this year, there is nonetheless something to be said for a self-imposed moratorium on the purchase of new games. This need not mean you will not get to play them eventually while in the mean time you: 1) finish your backlog of currently owned games first, and 2) then buy the newer games which may have the added benefit of having a lower price depending on popularity, availability and the amount of time passed. Self-discipline gentlemen, self-discipline! Care to join me in the "fun"?

And MAG! Plus Splinter Cell, but I'm not a big stealth fan. I was just sticking to the Jan and Feb, stonecold's got nearly five months of rocking before he gets his hands on AW!
