Heavy Rain gets 15 despite 'violence, sex'

Nudity doesn't bother BBFC
Big PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain has received a 15 rating from the BBFC, despite sporting strong nudity and sex.

According to the BBFC rating the Quantum Theory thriller contains "strong language, violence and sex," including one scene we've played in which you can dry a naked lady in the shower. Oh yes.

There's still no solid release date for the title, despite reports of a February Heavy Rain release in Japan.

Read our recent hands-on Heavy Rain preview for more.

Why are the BBFC still rating games? PEGI runs the show now :-S

Ah, well for those of us who don't have a girlfriend in 2010 yet, I guess this will have to make do. XD

15 rated though? The school kids will have a laugh, too. Oh look, boobies!!!

Fun times.

I wonder if the sex scenes will be motion captured- that would be hilarious to watch in the making of menu.

The interactive 'sex' scenes in Farenheit were funny in a rubbish way though. Or is that rubbish in a funny way? I've just finished replaying if- such a shame the last third is so terrible as it starts really well.

Nobody questions sex and violence in 15 rated movies.

I personally think it's absolutely though how for example Fahrenheit which had full on sex scenes (one in which you even do a QTE in time with the motion) is a 15 and it's absolutely fine, but yet in games like GTA IV where you see the hooker doing the 'action' for certain things, but with them even keeping their clothes on (making it even less believeable that anything is actually going on) and it gets condemned to hell by the media.

And then of course there's games like Mass Effect which was affected by game hating media hype (which was even more ridiculous). To be honest I'm surprised games like Fable 2 and Fallout 3 hadn't drawn attention for even suggesting the idea being there.

I sure hope this game has more compelling sequences than just drying naked chicks in showers. I'm all for sex and nudity in games if it enhances the storyline or befits the game. Otherwise it's just a bit pathetic. If I want to see naked chicks, I will go watch some porn.
spacelion on 5 Jan '10
Well at 16 you can have sex so I am sure a 15 year old knows all about it or at least they should. Protaction on the other hand they fail to grasp but that is another topic. Rolling Eyes

This is a tease to 15 year olds anyway who are Jail Bait and have just there hand for fun. Just like in the movies! Wink

Yeah, why are BBFC still rating games? It's PEGI now. They have no say on games anymore, they should stick to films.
