The Best Videos of E3

Round Up: All the must-see movies from the show
E3's great but so much happens in just three days that it's all too easy to miss a few announcements and debut trailers. One of the best things about E3 is seeing new games, so we've sifted through the deluge and picked out the best videos of this year's show. Don't forget to hit the HD button!

Watch tons of other great game videos in HD over on our video channel!

Super Mario Galaxy 2
This is one that'll have every Mario fan reaching for the tissues as they spot new gameplay touches that Nintendo always cram into gameplay trailers. Or was that just us...?

Metroid: Other M
One of the biggest (and not leaked) surprises of E3 was Nintendo's collaboration with Team Ninja on a new Metroid game. The cool thing about this trailer was that it wasn't obvious it was a new Metroid.

Assassin's Creed 2
The trailer was pretty but this clip features some great in-game footage and impressions from Official PlayStation Magazine.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Most developers use CGI video to do cinematic trailers for their games (cough... Square). But Naughty Dog puts two fingers up at that and achieves the same movie-worthy effects in real-time.

Splinter Cell: Conviction
This is shocking. It's like Sam Fisher's been playing God of War in his spare time and learned a few tricks from Kratos. Like how to smash a man's skull in. If the game is half as good as this footage makes it look, Splinter Cell is truly back.

Lost Planet 2
This trailer deserves a mention for visual splendour alone. Will it be better than the original? We don't know. But we do know you wish your girlfriend looked this good.

Split/Second
A shock entry, this. But give it a watch before you skip to the Alan Wake video. Seriously. Racers trigger disasters like plane crashes, toppling skyscrapers and entire sections of track exploding. More thrilling than firing a blue shell? We'll see.

1:24  A mental trailer. Watch it.

Alan Wake
Possibly the most atmospheric, gripping cinematic of the show, the Alan Wake trailer took just over a minute to thrust Remedy's game to the top of our most wanted list. Shame it's taking them AGES to make it. Spring 2010 is the light at the end of a long tunnel.

Halo 3: ODST
A bit like the Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer, this will have Halo followers bouncing in their seats. Floaty jump-shots, pinpoint accurate grenade throwing and rocket launcher ownage is coming this September.

Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer
Is it a game or a movie? Is QTE old? Does playable character Madison Paige need longer hair and bouncier boob physics? So many questions. E3 marked the second time we've seen HR running and we want it like a kebab after a booze up.

Project Natal
If Natal turns out to be half of what this video would have you believe, then it's going to be one of the most exciting developments since videogame tech began. But only if it actually delivers.

Left 4 Dead 2
Internet ranting aside Left 4 Dead 2 sounds awesome, and if you've spent as many hours on the first game as we have you'll be excited about the new features in this trailer.

PSP Go Hands-on
Sony finally coughed up the goods after months of speculation and rumours. It's a slick bit of kit though, and Official PlayStation Magazine got all touchy feely with it in front of a camera lens.

I'm REALLY getting fed up with that stupid Intel ad now. Does it have to play on EVERY DAMN VIDEO!!??

Somebody has got to pay for all this juicy gaming news.

Anyway, some stunning looking games are on the way. Very Happy

I think this collection show just how strong an E3 this years was. If it wasnt for Alan Wake then there would be about 3/4 of those videos that would get me seriously hyped.

Tis a good time to be a Gamer.
StonecoldMC on 9 Jun '09
Good show from all three fronts, it seems.

Mario Galaxy. <3

I'm sorry, but I still think that the opening sequence of The Beatles:Rock Band was one of the prettiest things I saw. Awesome art direction.
Batman2372 on 9 Jun '09
WTF?!!

You mention the sequel to one of the biggest disappointments and most tedious games ever in Assassin's Creed 2, some decidely below average-looking shooter that's only given attention because of all the obsessive fanboys who instantly cream their pants whenever the Halo name is mentioned with Halo STD (or whatever it's called) and some Nintendo fanboy stuff with Mario and Metroid, and yet theirs absolutely NO mention of BioWare's trio of kickass, showstealing RPG's: Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins and The Old Republic.

God. You guys suck! Pretty much everybody else has been ackowledging these titles, with ME2 getting many Best at Shows, yet they're not even featured here at all!
TerrorK on 10 Jun '09
Mario galaxy 2 looks coo,

Does anyone else hate the music as much as me?
I much prefer teh old skool stuff.
duffhead1010 on 11 Jun '09
TerrorK

I love when people call Halo: ODST, Halo: STD and think it's highly original and funny, and then try and act all nonchalant like they don't know what it's called.

You thick as pig s**t people are so funny.

Anyway I think some things are looking good here. But right now I just want Fat Princess, haha.
NaththeNarc on 11 Jun '09
Okay.

Has "Halo Reach Around" been done yet?
TerrorK on 11 Jun '09
Well I haven't heard it being used yet, apologies for my earlier comments and I retract them, as with human nature I tend to jump to stupid conclusions that make no sense. you have regained my respect and truly are a funny person. Well done. I am glad to see some perseverance within people nowadays without it just becoming a stupid fanboy arguement.

much respect. x
