Does it feel like Christmas for you yet? The traditional yuletide spirit is definitely in full swing here at CVG towers; we're the only ones left typing on Christmas Eve, all the mince pies have been munched and the faint call of the local pub can be heard singing through the office corridors (in our ears anyway).
We hope you've enjoyed 2009's gaming news as much as we've enjoyed being paid to write it. It's been a funny old year with developers going bust (Ensemble, Pandemic), massive buyouts (id, Eidos) and of course some fantastic game releases in the form of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2 and Assassin's Creed II.
The season of sitting in your pants playing games may be upon us (unless you work in a pub, in which case you should double your efforts) but of course that doesn't mean there won't be plenty to read on CVG over the Christmas holidays.
Over the next ten days we're going to run down our favourite Games of the Decade, picking the best efforts from each year beginning tomorrow with 2000 (Deus Ex, Diablo II, Counter-Strike - which is the best?)
There will definitely be lots of debate (and knowing the comments field as we do, swearing) in our top lists, and more Christmas cheer will be found no-doubt in our series of opinion pieces due to appear over the next week. You asked for more, and like the charitable souls we are, we delivered.
Over the holidays the CVG team (except for Mike, who'll be testing his vices in Las Vegas) will be catching up on Assassin's Creed II, Left 4 Dead 2, Tekken 6, Zelda: Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and you know what? We might even take that BioShock 2 preview code home for Christmas as well.
We're back on January 4, 2010. With the Q1 release blitz and launch of Sony's and Microsoft's motion controllers, next year promises to be a true titan of gaming activity. Thanks for reading and we hope you'll join us in 2010 for all the news, opinion and inevitable surprises here on CVG.
Happy Christmas and Happy New Year! Here's to some great games in 2010.
Great year for gaming looking forward to next year. Happy Christmas to all at CVG. Keep up the great work, even though you get paid loads of money for doing it... LOL
Merry Christmas CVG and all. Thanks for making lunch times enjoyable. Certainly more enjoyable than the last minute shopping down Oxford Street I've just endured. But I guess that's my own stinking fault for leaving it to the last minute.

Since Satan Clause didn't bring an old chap like me any games this year , I Downloaded Call of Duty Classic on PSN yesterday. Real great memory lane (I loved it on PC), but its funny to see how 'old-times' this game looks compared to todays standard FPS. Anywho... Happy Nju Year!
