FFXIV beta applications open

Sign up for Wada's "World of Warcraft" rival on PC
If you're curious to see whether Final Fantasy XIV will live up to Yoichi Wada's billing, then here's your chance: sign-ups for the beta testing on the PC are now officially open.

The Square Enix boss has, of course, just revealed how he hopes to steal World of Warcraft's crown in the MMO market. So we're certainly keen to see whether the dough is planted firmly where his mouth is.

If you want in on the testing, then APPLY HERE. You'll need to be 18+ and have a Square Enix ID account.

There's no word on when the actual testing will commence, however. Applications for the PS3 beta sign-ups are also promised very soon.

I think I'll wait for the PS3 beta. I'm pretty sure my PC will explode/leave me if I ask it to do anything more complicated than *crash*
