That's depressing . . .

I'd like to see what shopto.net sales are like, since that is aimed more towards gamers than mums.

Who cares about the USA anyway!!

What about the VGcharts for Europe, much more interesting.
Barca Azul on 31 Dec '09
Well the top 4 aren't even games so that list is pretty pointless, one with actual games on it might be better.

Company with most console units shifted in high software sales shocker!!

It's more alarming that people are surprised...

i have everything on that list, and their all well designed software and hardware compared to their previous outtings, The only one i dont enjoy as much is mw2 compared to mw

Lots of people care about the US I imagine; it is still the single largest and wealthiest economic block/market in the world, so for businesses it is a naturally attractive place to break through. That said I agree that it would seem a bit more pertinent for the European Amazon outlet statistics to be shown since this is a European/British website at heart. The EU economic zone is close to being the same size as that of the US (although we need 27 countries or more to do it).

Back on topic: I'm unsure whether to feel a bit depressed about this or just shrug it off. I think I shall go with the latter since the former does not change matters, nor does it bestow upon me any favours. Besides, there is still plenty of choice for a PC and console gamer like myself on Amazon and elsewhere. Smile

The biggest concern for anyone in the industry should not be that all those titles are simply just Wii titles, it should be that they are all first party titles as well.

I really cannot see this being accurate for the market as a whole. I really don't think that any of those things are the biggest selling for the industry as a whole. I don't know anyone who still uses their Wii over their PS3 or 360 for example.

Personally I own all three. I was suckered into purchasing a Wii when Nintendo were still producing quality games like Metroid and Zelda that I would actually play. Now they just produce rubbish like Wii Fit.
bazzatuk on 31 Dec '09
yeah man, people are buying the wii crap and then they're selling it on again lol

As much as I'm not personally a huge fan of the wii and games on the iphone I am pleased that the games industry as a whole is growing. Its only a matter of time before the games industry overtakes the music industry in terms of mainstream sales and revenue. Would have liked to see ps3 and xbox games more dominant in this list though.

i think its always important to remember that popularity doesn't equal quality.
Tobal on 2 Jan '10
Your right when you say popularly doesnt equal quailty, but last time i checked everything on that list was fun to play!

If someone not interested in computers or consoles wants to buy anything on the internet they usualy google it. Amazon is usualy the first well known retailer that will appear and the nintendo buyers wont look elsewhere. Oh look instock and from a reputable company, hit add to cart now. Anyone who is knowledgable will look elsewhere to compare price, ie computer, Xbox or Ps users. Amazon, in my opinion are very rarely the cheapest or have fast delivery unless you pay even more. This is a generalisation as some Nintendo fans are computer savvy.
