ReplyHelp Build The Looperman FAQ
|
instead of having the "how did you join looperman" thread occupying the "ones to watch" and "latest site news" sections, why not have a "frequently asked questions" category. |
|
|
I like the idea of that...the FAQ's seem to be hidden out of the way and they definitely should be more prominent. |
|
|
Thats a good idea. Deffinetly could be a lot more constructive. Thats an interesting forum though. Maybe it just belongs somehwere else. |

yeh we need to make something that explains how things work round here. so ...
How about we all chip in.
I changed the title of this post for starters to make it easier to find
If you have a question AND the answer then add them to this thread and ill collate them into one big help file thing.
read the current FAQ first though.

@MrE- Nice idea mate, I was thinkin along the same lines not that long ago with all the legal type questions people periodically ask on here.
@Looperman- I could do something like I tried doing for the "Software Specific Chat" threads a couple of months back. Compile a few lists, gathering the various questions that members tend to ask often (like- "Is it okay to use the loops for my video project" ones).
But I agree, that the FAQ page needs to be updated.
Heck, maybe you could do something to where the different questions would open to a list of specific posts (much like how the categories of the 'Forum' is done currently). Also, creating a "Sticky" add on to certain threads might help organize things even further (along with expanding the "Ones to Watch" section).
Oh, and since we're on revamping that- maybe you could do the forum part of the main page like in some kind of tabbed text box. Where it'd have; Sticky threads, newest threads, latest site news, and FAQ stuff at the end. I'm thinkin that this'd free up some space for more adds and other infos. There's my two pence for the mo'. Later on!

I know were supposed to have answeres to the questions and I feel bad I have a couple of questions. I just dont have the answere is that ok??? I want this forum to go somewhere so i might has well ask an maybe some other member may have the answere. Anyways, Is there a limit to how many tracks you can upload? and the other one is Is it ok to use HTML in the description when you post a track? |
|
|
I use some Html.. I like how califken and coney use html in their profiles...
i have seen other artists/looperheads do it too.. wish i cared enough to learn it! lol, looks really professional
theres a lot of good stuff all around the site but general questions can surely be answered by any longtime user.
you can have 40 tracks
at 128kbs which is about 11:1 compression rate for every bit of 16 you have.
Don't try any higher bitrate, as I know I have had issues with VBR and such, and it's in the guidelines anyway.
(but, yeah, I have uploaded a 320Kbs 32 bit song, and it ended up sound different.. shrug.. don't do it)
either way.. FAQ?
who has a question? about what? |
