	yo i got a small question. i purchased m audio fast track usb [ yea i kn0w im on a low budget] lol Anyways, what kind of microphones can i connect to it? The box says 'balanced XLR input for connecting a dynamic microphone' lol but i wanna kno if you can connect a condenser mic? helppp. :)

	I use a fast track pro usb and it has phantom power so it can use condensers.

	The fast track usb doesn't have phantom so no you can't use a condenser. The fast track pro has phantom power. You can however buy a phantom power adapter and still run a condenser mic. Here's a good one for $20.00 http://www.jr.com/phantom-power-supply/pe/BEH_PS400/

I use fast track USB (not phantom powered) and I've used various mics on this, but the best results I got from a cheap Rosetti 526SD mike, and an old Shure SM58...any "dynamic" microphone should get good results. If you know friends who got microphones then ask them to borrow and try out on your system. What works for me as a test of a "good" microphone is how noisy it is when you turn the mic input level up on the fastrack. If it hisses too much then no-go. hope this helps

	Keep in mind that it's hard to get those clean "Studio Sounding" vocals on a dynamic mic without spending lots of time EQing if at all. Dynamic mic's are good for MICing amps, Drums Etc. Not my first choice for vocals though.

	There are 2 versions of the fast track and I had both. The old one sucks and the new one does have phantom power. If you have the new one, then condenser mics should work fine (just don't expect great quality)

	o wow thatt sucks :( so a dynamic mic isnt as good as a condenser mic for vocals? Geez o well ima hve to waste more money on a phantom power adapter. Thanks!
