Modern Warfare 2 360 patch out

Fixes Akimbo, private match glitches
A patch for the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 2 will be released on Xbox Live this morning, says Infinity Ward.

Community man Robert Bowling wrote on his Twitter: "Alright, just got word the #MW2 Xbox 360 patch should start going live at 2 AM. You can now remove my face from your dartboards... for now."

According to previous Tweets by the Modern Warfare man, the patch will fix among, other things, the 1887 Akimbo glitch (those are the incredibly annoying double shotguns) as well as private match issues.

We'll let you know when it goes live.

UPDATE: We're told the patch has now gone live. Let us know if we're really, really wrong.

Hopefully theyve sorted the unlimited ammo glitch on servers, and that weird glitch where you join a game and everything is UBER fast. If those are sorted and 1887s range has gone, (they shouldn't even be akimbo, look at the goddamn size of them) ill be happier.

I don't know why everyone whines about people using thermal scopes, just use cold-blooded, I switch between a regular and thermal scope and I take great joy in knowing that I can spot people with cold-blooded on regardless.

I will try it tonight but if the patch is the same as the PS3 one which went live on Monday the 1887 still have the range of Sniper rifles so not alot has changed. Also the whole HIT/HEADSHOTS etc is STILL BROKEN HUGELY!!!!

hope they havent fixed the glitch that puts you on rust in a 16 man free for all when you go on ground war sometimes, that was one of the best games i ever played so fun

I'm sure this was one of the things being fixed unfortunatley. Bit gutted really it was great fun in the middle of games of deathmatch with friends to being thrown in to that spawn killing carnage where we would all just be laughing the whole time. Great fun. They should do it for a double xp weekend like halo do with grifball and other wierd game types. I know id play it.

I agree, i think they should make that 18 player carnage on rust an actual game type to select, so funny. And also, they should add the option for the games where the game runs at double the regular speed, where everyone sounds like chipmunks for some pure shotgun fun. I had so much fun running around randomly as fast as anything with everyone strafing round in circles at each other trying to get a shotgun hit......oh please I can only hope it gets added as a real game mode Smile

1887 Akimbo glitch (those are the incredibly annoying double shotguns)

Wait, that was a glitch? Damn that bastard who kept using them on me Mad
dark_gamer on 23 Dec '09
model shotguns. 188whatever aren't a glitch but they're just way way too overpowered meaning anyone using them is getting very very cheap kills and is a cheap player. I have not known a more cheap gun combo in any other online shooter I've played than dual models
Ilikerice on 23 Dec '09
Akimobo shotguns are the most stupid thing in any game ever sooner they are removed the better, almost ruin the game. Last night I was in a game where all the opposing team were using them absolute joke.
Scarlet_Pimp on 24 Dec '09
beside from all the ranting what about those fu****s that run around with the carepackage marker in their hand-marathon and lightweight pro and knife, thats far more annoying than 1887's
