Next up Quantum Dream's ambitious psychological thriller, Heavy Rain, is due to arrive in shops in February, followed shortly after by God of War 3, which should be out by mid-March, according MCV, although exact releases for those will be set at a later date.
Then there's Final Fantasy XIII... so you'll have the games. Question is, do you have the money?
Really looking forward to White Knight Chronicles and FFXIII. Let's also not forget Star Ocean 4 International, which I'm looking forward to. Also, White Knight is listed in a few places as 28th Feb. I wouldn't expect too much deviation from that.
meh for me there all very boring titles. the only one im considering is heavy rain. mass effect2 and bioshock 2 will be taking up my time then but i do have batman, spirit tracks, ac2, fifa 10, gta ctw and the sabatour to play before lol i wanna no when MOD NATION RACER IS OUT!!!!!!
Going to be a superb year, need to finish mordern warfare 2 on the 360 this weekend, then ready for uncharted 2 which have wrapped up ready for me on xmas day.
So then starting next year, Mass Effect 2, which I cant wait for, Heavy Rain which has been on my to buy list since being intrigued by the sneak peak at E3 2006, God of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII(as Im a huge fan of the FF series, yet surprisingly only ever finished 7,8,9 in more recent years as opposed to when they came out) GT5 (finally) and....the third installment of ICO (or whatever it will be called). Really shaping up to be a superb year.
cannot wait. despite all the sony awesomeness, i want no more heroes 2 on wii more than any of the q1 ps3 releases, good thing i have money saved up for all of them ;D
It looks impressive on paper but...MAG could=LAG, GOW 3 could=same s**t different game and I pray Heavy Rain is great but from what I've seen it could be boring as hell. To be fair I think the 360 has a better line up early 2010 with Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake (if it ever comes out!).

I thought same s**t different game was the whole point of god of war? Lucky for me my birthday's at the beginning of march so I've got my wishlist all lined up already.

February 28th is a Sunday... Unlikely.
Really nice PS3 line-up there. GoD will be awesome, I'm sure. That said, Dantes Inferno is released beginning of the year too, will it prove any competition?
I'm picking up God of War 3 : collector's edition for the revamped PS2 titles and Hard Rain will be worth a rental. The rest of my cash is obviously all reserved for my 360: Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy, Bayonetta, Split/Second and Bioshock 2.

Why on earth are you buying the 360 version of FF if you also have a PS3? The 360 version has reduced graphical and sound quality, not to mention disc swapping.

Only the CGI segments. Plus it's his decision and money, not yours.
I got a PS3 2 days ago, so I'll be getting a few of the older releases first. Once I finish those, all of these games will probably be £25.
About bloody time.
If you haven't already done so, get Uncharted 1 and 2 as well, you won't be disappointed.
I'll probably pick them up in the next couple of days, more pressing however, is a decent controller. Something similar to the 360 pad will do, any tips?

Exactly, plus the disc swapping is no big hardship really is it? Both versions will be ace pay your money takes your choice. I have not decided which version to go for yet, looking forward to WKC though as that has a confirmed Euro release unlike Demon's Souls (damn release it here fgs). Heavy Rain looks nice but undecided on that, not really interested in MAG but that may change. All in all another bumper year for gamers, especially if you are lucky enough to have multiple systems.

Wrong. The sound is of a reduced quality throughout the game.
As for it being "his decision", everything we do is our decision and not anyone else's. If were to all take the attitude that we shouldn't comment on other peoples' decisions, no-one would ever try to sway what anyone else does or thinks, thus eliminating 95% of all conversations.
Case in point: it was my decision to write that post, not yours. As it will be when I write any future posts that attempt to point out another person's folly.
EDIT: Also, PS3 FF XIII can be bought on-line for £34.99, whereas the cheapest I can find the 360 version for is £37.98. You could buy yourself an extra pint with that .

I don't see any of NB Mare's bad points as particularly good reasons not to choose the 360 version. If the game were to run like crap or the PS3 version would link with Versus XIII somehow, that would change my mind.
I'm sorry MAG, but you loose out to Mass Effect 2.
As for Heavy Rain, i think as an interactive experience it will be brilliant, however, i'll probably trade it as soon as i've finished the game.
And as for God of War 3, day 1 purchase!
You'll hold onto to Heavy Rain to you've given the Chronicles a run out as well? I get the feeling Heavy Rain is one of those games you're going to keep playing over and over again.

I'm not too sure about an alternative pad but, a cheaper alternative might be this and this
i don't even own a PS3 at the moment but I might have to pick one up as a second console just to play MAG,Uncharted 2 and GOW3. Any advice for where I can get one cheap? I don't mind if it's slim or not and I've got no problem with second hand.

There's some good deals on eBay right now (I just saw a Buy It Now offer of £200.00 for a PS3 Slim + 2 games), though if you wait until Christmas you'll probably be able to get one even cheaper.
One of the best current deals for brand new PS3 Slims is on Amazon: console + HDMI cable + 1 game for £269.99, orconsole + HDMI cable + 2 games for £284.99 (you can only choose from a limited selection of games, but they include Uncharted 2 as well as the also awesome Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time).
Well ,from my experience with the FF multi-disc sets (FFVII ,VIII and IX ) I can tell you that you have a strong probability of one of the discs getting damaged in some way ...usually its the first one. With one Blu Ray disc and its higher durability you remove that risk.
I would buy the PS3 version.CGI at 1080p instead of 720p,no disc-swapping ,higher quality sound if you have a good home cinema ,you reduce the risks of damaging the discs ,some Home support ...
Sorry guys, Feb 28th was a typo. I meant Feb 26th, a Friday. This can be seen on Play.com here: http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/10267486/White-Knight-Chronicles/Product.html ShopTo have it listed slightly earlier at 19th Feb, so it will probably be around this time either way.

You may be right. I mean, i WILL want to play it through and see every alternative to any choice you are given. With games like that, as it was with Mass Effect, i heard some other people say "oh, remember that bit when...." and i never saw it, so it made me play through it again straight away.
I'm currently on my 3rd Mass Effect playthrough, and i'm STILL seeing things i didn't see on the first playthrough.
Looks like I'll finally be getting a PS3 in February then Hopefully there'll be better/cheaper deals around then as I've already been a bit hard on my cash the last few months

Well can you explain why the first disc is at more risk of getting damaged than any of the others? I have had all the FF's you mentioned without damaging my discs, then again when it says swap disc I take the disc out of the tray and put it back in the case, funnily enough the discs remain unscratched/damaged.
Surely if all of the content is on one disc only and that scratches/gets damaged then you can play nothing too?

Lets just wait and see what the reviews say before we decide what version to buy. I think some people are going to be shocked.

Don't spread rumors, XBUTT(seems so). Please, do not. I was in MAG BETA, and it didn't have lag issues. BETA! Yes, I include the 256 player match as well. It is an experience unlike any other. But, it admittedly didn't have the "feel" for everyone. If you liked SOCOM, then you should like MAG, though. With GT5 added, among others, PS3 should have a better year than the 360. But yes, I liked the look of both ME2 and Alan Wake, despite some saying it doesn't look good. It does look good. Silly fanboys, on either side, are annoying to me.

I see, what you are saying, yes I do. But, I rather prefer, the way you type. Yes.
you know if half of the games tht we are all excited for on all the platforms turn out to be good 2010 may just be the best year for games I can ever remember.
lets not forget weve also got final fantasy 14 coming next year aswell as ff 13, and lets not forget the now revealed Last Rebellion JRPG, next year is going to be a good year more PS3
