Games On Demand for Windows Live

Games for Windows - Live merges with Games On Demand
Microsoft will offer Games for Windows - Live users the option to access and and download other Live-enabled titles via Games on Demand. It's one big happy world out there.

Games on Demand for Windows will let you buy and download titles from the Games for Windows - Live library and re-install them "whenever you want, wherever you want," says MS.

The launch line-up includes Resident Evil 5, Red Faction: Guerilla and Battlestations: Pacific, as well as exclusive Live-enabled versions of World of Goo and Osmos.

"With Games on Demand, we didn't just want to create a cut-and-paste version of existing digital distribution services," said Mike Ybarra, general manager of Live Engagement Services. "We challenged ourselves to deliver an integrated platform that takes full advantage of the unique capabilities offered by the Live service. Our goal has always been to create a seamless online gaming experience for the Windows community, and Games on Demand is a great step toward that end."

Is it for you?

Nope. Since I refuse to buy any more titles that use that God-awful intrusive system. Games for Windows LIVE should die a very quick death.

Put simply ... I don't trust MS, so from me its a resounding NO!

"With Games on Demand, we didn't just want to create a cut-and-paste version of STEAM" slavered Mike Ybarra, chief monkey wrencher of Live Engagement Services. "We challenged ourselves to completely ignore all of the painful lessons and hard won victories of that system while taking full advantage of the unique levels of naivety offered by the Live service consumer. Our goal has always been to create an unheard of digital backwater, only utilized by the Windows novice, and Games on Demand is a great step toward that end."

Translated.
