Tennis star Andy Murray was dumped by his girlfriend for spending seven hours a day playing Modern Warfare 2, it's been claimed.
According to The Sun, Murray's ex Kim Sears, 21, pulled the plug on their relationship because his PlayStation 3 sessions "drove her mad". She wouldn't do well in our office then...
"He would spend all his time glued to [PS3]. In the end she just got fed up with it. She wanted more out of the relationship," a 'source' told the paper.
Student Kim is apparently back with her parents after quitting Murray's £5million mansion in Surrey.
The 22-year-old's PlayStation "obsession" has been a problem in the past, it seems, with his former coach, Brad Gilbert stating: "He plays video games seven hours a day."
Last night the British number one's agent insisted: "Andy doesn't play computer games any more than any other 22-year-old."
As one Sun reader aptly put it, "she may be fit, but Modern Warfare 2 is much better."
Seven hours a day is a lot and you got to have someone really understanding or really boring to put up with that. Hmm, sex or some crappy shooter game? What would I do?....

Depends on the what she's like when it comes down to pelvis bumping though. She could be a lights off, "I don't do 'Insert'-style" type girl!

Wow. That's exactly what I was going to say. Some girls can be very attractive, but the lights off thing, and the constant need for hugging, kissing, and not doing anything that is not the missionary position is a big f**king turn-off.
ON TOPIC:I don't play MW2. or any other shooters for that matter, but my missus is growing increasingly annoyed by my FIFA10 sessions (one hour max when she's around); but she only complains so I can give her the controller and let her have a go at Critter Crunch, Eden or LBP. Or when she wants teh seks. But she knows

Pelvis bumping? Never heard that one before!!
Although I always insert with style. That's lame, sorry.

Very lame, but still good!
As for pelvis bumping, I have to give credit to Optimus Frag in the Mass Effect comments for that one!
oh well misrible tart would expect him to like all her hobbys but wouldnt allowed to say anything bout it, better off, its why i love beeing single, aint gotta worry bout no other f****r
Mr.Murray, your ex-girlfriend looks alright but it isn't worth putting up with any sh*t from her, especially at 22.
Don't make the mistake of chasing after her and telling her you'll change. You don't want to change, so why should you?
That's right... She should change. The world doesn't revolve around women's powers of persuasion and accidentally having kids. Let her find someone older, sadder and far less rich to sink her claws into... Someone like StonecoldMC.
As a brave space marine once said, I'm too young to die... or rather you are... I'm over 700 years old so take it from me when I tell you don't forget to play the campaign on Veteran - just like me.

Besides, if he truly is playing games for 7 hours a day, then I don't really blame her. He (no doubt) has to spend a lot of time training, making personal appearances and on all the other commitments that a top level sportsman is pushed into.....no doubt that leaves very little time for any kind of 'significant other'.
Don't get me wrong, I love games - but there's no way I'd ever sit and play for 7 hours everyday.....that's utter madness.

ok, she was hot, but, I doubt it's going to be the only hot girl Murray was ever going to get. Frankly, I find the story hilarious, if a little hard to believe it's as clear cut as it says it is. I think this article is the first of it's kind? I love that gaming (especially COD) isn't really seen as just a geeky thing anymore, it's a lot of people, largely males. I think it's something women will learn to accept. (Although 7 hours a day is rather a lot, if that is true!) Anymore than 2-3 and it's starting to push it in my eyes.
silly brass a video game got more attention then she did, whats that saying?, ive heard plenty of simular storys from guys i talk too bout thier ex gfs etc, all comes down too thier gfs brattyness and me me me me me me
here's where i win. not only do a have a stunning girlfriend, she f**king loves games, she asked me to finish UC2 for her the weekend it came out, some of us get all the good stuff.
So he's just a typical gamer then. Puts games before girls, and is annoying dick. Oh and if you say you've got a stunning bird who loves to play games with you, pics or STFU. All the hot girls I know wouldn't even talk to you no life prestige addicts.
The Sun is the journalistic equivalent of The Viz! The mentality of their readership never ceases to amaze...and its always peppered with horses**t stories just to fill in the space! She probably just had a tiff and stormed off to her mothers for a few days (chrissakes, our lass has done it a few times when I've been an arrogant p***k). It may have been over his time spent playing 'Playstation' as the Sun seems to sum up anything game related, and as usual, they pin it on on a game that has been the latest political hot potato regarding games....MW2! To The Sun, you're so predictable!

Von, you grace us with your unique brand of charming madness - I applaud you on this occasion sir.
Dajmin, gaming for 7 hours straight is madness? This. is. GAMING! I have gamed entire days away during vacations and/or weekends. It is easier to do when not romantically involved, but that has its own pleasures too.
On topic, I can appreciate why Murray's ex-flame would be less than pleased at being on hold for 7 hours a day during quality time periods if it's a reoccurring phenomenon. At the same time if Murray truly enjoys gaming and he can still take care of his responsibilities (non-relationship related that is,) then why should he give up something he likes completely? Perhaps the 21 year old and the 22 year old could have reached a compromise? Perhaps this is just one of several issues.
>Nick33 Yes, I do happen to be married to a stunning ex-model who enjoys Mario Kart and Tekken sessions with me(amongst many other classics) but do you honestly think I'm going to post pics of her just so you can grow more hairs on your palms?

Psst! Don't forget to mention the accompanying blindness.
so he's living his career and gaming in his free time, she's clearly not doing something rite to shift his attention, but then again there could be many underlaying factors, but i say good on him in some respects, hes young and he can learn(hopefully) from his mistakes! but now do my mother a favour and win a slam you t*t
Let's face it, if you are spending a large quantity of free time doing something else other than spending it with those you supposedly love and/or care about, consistently, chances are there is a reason for that, and I doubt it's unlocking the ACOG scope for your mini Uzi.
Take the hint love, it's not an obsession with Modern Warfare that's the problem, it's more the apathy towards you. That being the case, I would imagine you and Mr Murray will both be much happier this way...
Speaking as a husband, a dad, someone who works 12 hours a day as well as being an aspiring music producer and video game nut, if I can find the wherewithal to balance all that, I'm sure Andy Murray could balance tennis/Playstation/girlfriend. He just clearly just didn't want to!
Have to agree with flimflam here, Im a husband, father of two work 46 hours a week, manage to satisfy the wife, have recently graduated uni with a degree and still manage to game 20+ hrs a week
shame about the lack of sleep and red bull addiction though
Yup. I'm happily married with two lovely kids and sometimes I'm worse than the kids when a new Tekken or MGS or Mario is released! But having also created my awesome new concept (www.jellydoodz.blogspot.com) - check it out guys - with the help of my wife, I do find plenty of quality time to spend with the family.(very important). Gaming should be done in moderation (well, my age anyway) but even I was guilty as a teenager for spending countless hours on Jet Set Willy, Atic Atac, Starquake etc. Perhaps I was learning as I was playing...I hope I was! My wife Jo loves Trials HD, Braid and many other gems and I love seeing her laugh when she kicks my butt on Tekken (only cos I let her mind)... But don't worry Mr Murray...I'm sure her mother will talk her around...and then it will make headlines again in that amazing 'comic' we call The Sun!
haha never mind andy i dont have that problem as long as my girlfriend gets serviced twice a day she lets me do whatever and i have been playing left 4 dead 2 non stop since its release
I reckons they were at it one night and she turned the lights on to get some tissue and he was playing his DS whilst on the job...(thats not a Euphemism) dumperble offence if ever I heard one...bet its pink too...the DS that is..
Well I have 2 kids and I am happilly divorced cos I had a psycho ex-wife that played too much Everquest 2... Not sexist but I was at work providing for my family and she did p**s all around the house.... Bloody gold digger!!!... Ahem... Sorry about that....
This made me LOL, it's always nice to see a bloke who's got his priorities right.
BTW, this wasn't only reported in the sun, it was also reported in some other, more reputable, publications and also some tennis publications. The only difference in the other publications was that it wasn't 7hrs playing MW2, it was 7hrs playing console games in general, including MW2. 7hrs playing multiple games is easily done... or at least it is in my house
