Capcom's detailed its download content plans for Resident Evil 5, which includes two new episodes, costumes, and the 'Mercenaries Reunion' mode.
Previously only seen during cut-scenes of the original Resident Evil 5, the first new episode 'Lost in Nightmares' finds Chris and Jill investigating Ozwell E. Spencer's hideaway.
"Spencer, the evil mastermind and co-founder of Umbrella Corporation, has been concealing a new evil deep within the basement of his mansion," says Capcom. "Chris and Jill discover this grotesque evil standing in their way as the two enter deeper into the catacombs beneath the mansion."
As for the Mercenaries Reunion mode, that has players using new playable characters and weapon load-outs as they aim to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time, says Capcom.
A boxed copy of the game with all DLC included, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, will be released on March 12 (PS3 with all content on disc, Xbox 360 with a download code).
The full release schedule follows:
Xbox 360 Lost in Nightmares: 17 February Costume Pack 1: 17 February Episode 2 (title TBA): 3 March Costume Pack 2: 3 March
PS3 Lost in Nightmares: 18 February Costume Pack 1: 18 February Episode 2 (title TBA): 4 March Costume Pack 2: 4 March
Nice to see Capcom going back to the roots of RE with this new episode, shame they didn't do it earlier with RE5. It was ok butthe locations were crap, I mean a oil plant hardly screams horror.
