'What's the greatest Beatles album ever' is an argument that rages eternally among music fans, and although this particular writer favours 'The White Album', many still rank as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club as the group's pivotal moment.

The good news, especially for those fans, is that the opus is available for download now from Xbox Live and the Wii Shop, and this Thursday from PlayStation Network, to be used on The Beatles: Rock Band.
The album, which originally released in 1967, contains such memorable hits as 'When I'm 64', 'A Day In The Life', and the title track. It's the second full album add-on for the game. 'Abbey Road' was first up, while the more experimental 'Rubber Soul' is set to release in December.
For Xbox 360 and PS3, players have the option of downloading the full album (minus the songs already featured in the game), or purchasing tracks individually. Wii gamers can only go for the latter option. Rock on, people.
Yeah, just another of their long line of classics. I actually remember being surprised when I realised that 'Octopus' Garden' was a Beatles track, I think I'd long thought of it as some kind of kids playground song - I guess that's just another testament to how ingrained their music is to most.
I'd have to agree though, I prefer the White Album...actually, I don't really know anyone that has Sgt. Pepper as their favourite Beatles album.
Still, I guess it's the significance of it on release - it must have been mind-blowing.
'A Day in the Life' is still a big favourite of mine.
Has anyone got the value edition? My only concern is that the guitar will be wired... is this much of a problem, or am I being too picky?
I'm not 100% sure, but the standard RB 'Band in a Box' comes with a wired guitar. Mind you, you can pick up the wireless Strat pretty cheap these days, if you look around.
Revolver FTW. I once managed to play a friend pretty much all of Let It Be before he asked me who the album was by. Previously he thought he hated the Beatles. Fool.
