Grasshopper Manufacture's well-received Wii slash-em-up, No More Heroes is officially headed to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in Japan.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise, as it's being called, is literally a HD update of the Wii original, with at least one new mode "where the ladies aren't wearing too many clothes".
The port doesn't come as much of a surprise really, as creator Koichi Suda has previously expressed his interest in bringing the series to HD consoles, though sadly it looks like he's opted out of implementing Natal and PS3 motion controls.
It's due out in Japan on February 25, 2010. Check out the scans over on Kotaku.
Contrary to popular belief, i've read here and there that the game sold quite well, enough to warrant a sequel at least, and that the developers were very pleased with its performance.
Can't see there being a huge jump in sales with the HD versions. - The game is just too quirky, stylized and Japanese to be appreciated by tech-heads searching for their next 'realistic' looking game.
For me, the Wii will still have the two definitive iterations, given that it was the brilliant motion-controlled combat that gave the games their identity and fun. - Take away those and you have another GTA clone.

I agree on one point - that without motion controls, the 360/PS3 versions just won't feel right.
However, I don't think HD console owners ignore stylised graphics as I believe Borderlands sold very well.
What it will gain through improved graphics it will lose through lack of motion controls, seeing as NMH was one of the better implementations of it.
The level of sales will be interesting, although the argument of 'proper' games selling better on non-Nintendo consoles has already been blown apart somewhat by the terrible sales of the PSP version of GTA:CTW...
just cause it has friggin better graphics doesn't mean it'll be a better game. the wii version won't be beat. controls like that will never ever be as satisfying with button presses. (i'm talking about the actual swinging of your weapons).
Awesome news. Unlike others, I just can't get to grips with the Wii's forced motion controls. Strangely, I just don't feel in full control as I do with a regular games pad. Due to that, I could never really get into the Wii version, so for me, this is great news as I can give what looked like a great game another chance with a control scheme that doesn't put me off.
I doubt this'll sell, if Wii owners didn't notice it then PS3 and 360 owners definitely won't, most will take one look at the graphics like many Wii owners did and instantly dismiss it, sad but it's true.
