Star Trek Online beta details

The Star Trek Online open beta will kick off on January 12, 2010 and run to January 26, developer Cryptic has confirmed.

Keys will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and can be acquired over on startrekonline.com.

"We know you've all been eagerly anticipating your chance to experience the Star Trek Universe in a way that only Star Trek Online will allow, and we can't wait for you all to beam aboard this great adventure in January," it said.

The full game's out on February 2. Set phasers to... pre-order?

Umm short open beta. I wonder if this is being deployed more as an advertising feature. Hopefully this will prove good on its so far good potential.

AFAIK the player IS the starship, the starship is your avatar.

Your best bet for more info would be to read the FAQs over at http://www.startrekonline.com
