Ninja Gaiden hits Virtual Console

Plus Touch Golf and Rock N' Roll Climber among this week's new downloads
The original arcade version of Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden has gone up on the Wii Virtual Console store today, topping a fairly decent list of new Nintendo downloads.

It's not as pretty but just as bloody hard as the current-gen versions that you should have sat in your collections.

Here's the full official list:

WiiWARE - Rock N' Roll Climber
(Nintendo, 800 Wii Points)

Do you have what it takes to scale the heights of rock superstardom? In Rock N' Roll Climber, put your balance and coordination skills to the test as you attempt to conquer the world as a champion rock climber.
Use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and even the optional Wii Balance Board, to move your hands and feet independently, as you inch yourself closer to the summit - and the prize guitar that awaits.
Practise your skills on the indoor training wall, then experience the thrill of scaling a jungle hillside, a waterfall and a treacherous mountain - balancing speed and concentration to beat the clock before you fall.

WiiWARE - My Zoo
(HUDSON SOFT, 500 Wii Points)

My Zoo is a relaxing animal sim that puts you in the shoes of an animal breeder, raising animals you'd normally only dream of. All it takes is a Wii Remote for a simple, yet fulfilling connection with nature.
There are 12 animal types in total (four sold separately as add-on content - coming soon). Select your favourites and nurture them to adulthood. Feeding them, petting them, and cleaning up after them is a great way to form a lasting bond.
Each animal's personality will change depending on how you take care of them. Watch them get spoiled, turn into over-eaters, and more as they grow on a daily basis. Some animals will even have a baby on occasion, and once it's born, you've got another mouth to feed.
Game time passes much more quickly than real time, and the different animal types are active at various hours - some during the day and some at night. Sometimes it's fun to just kick back and watch what they do.
So what are you waiting for? It's time to create your own personal zoo.

Virtual Console Arcade - NINJA GAIDEN
(Tecmo, 800 Wii Points)

Originally released in arcades as "Shadow Warriors" in Europe, this fast-paced brawler is hailed as a cult classic - and now you can enjoy it in your own home.
You take on the role of a ninja, dispatched to the American gangland city of "Jungle" to take down an evil assassination syndicate. But they're not going down without a fight. You'll need all of your ninja skills, such as the Flying Neck Throw and the Hang Kick, to defeat them. This version allows you to select your starting amount of lives, along with the difficulty level of the game, for an improved, custom experience.
Ninja warriors meet Western gangs in this action classic. Pick it up and hit the streets.

NINTENDO DSiWARE - A Little Bit of...Nintendo Touch Golf
(Nintendo, 800 Nintendo DSi points)
Tee off with power, drive with accuracy, and putt with precision. A Little Bit of... Nintendo Touch Golf is a realistic golf simulation that makes full use of the Touch Screen to offer in-depth control over your actions. Vary the shot power, apply topspin or backspin, and more, all with simple swipes of the Stylus.
There are two main modes to choose from, for beginners and experts alike. Round Mode offers tournament play across 3-, 9- or 18-hole courses, each with varying difficulty levels.
Challenge mode puts a unique new spin on golf, with a wide selection of special tasks to complete. By completing tasks in Challenge mode you can improve your character's skills, and unlock new courses in Round Mode.

I didn't realise Ninja Gaiden was Shadow Warriors. I loved that game. It was quite hard from what I remember. Storm did a good conversion of it on the Amiga.

that game was so damn hard it hurt. Makes the modern Ninja gaiden look like a walk in the park!

I got excited for a couple of seconds there - when I thought Rock n Roll Racing was coming out on the VC. That really needs to get released - great game.
