A number of PS3 owners are reporting problems syncing their Trophy collection on PSN, following a recently-released Modern Warfare 2 patch that was aimed at fixing Trophy unlock issues.
Hordes of users have hit the official PlayStation forums to complain of the problem - referencing the error code '80022a07' - which apparently sees the PS3 failing to synchronise the console's trophy data with the PSN server.

A number of posts claim to have began experiencing issues after having installed the MW2 patch, which fixes Trophy unlocks in both multiplayer and Spec Ops (as reported earlier), although there's no confirmed link between the two.
It could be an isolated issue following a brief PSN server outage yesterday, but we're checking with Sony. If you're having any problems let us know in the comments below.
Despite receiving MW2 a couple of days ago I am yet to load it up, but my playstation was still unable to synch trophies last night, so the MW2 patch cannot be to blame. Can it?
Ive got the error. I have MW2 but maybe it was caused by PSN being offline for an update on Tuesday morning if people who dont have MW2 have the same trouble?
After installing patch 1.02 yesterday, not only did the online play in mw2 go down the toilet (because of PSN servers over heating, I managed only 3 matches online... so I'm p**sed ) but also my Trophy synch stopped working.
I don't fancy the campaign in MW2 (because of confusing plot and what not), but I completede it. So now I'm back to UC 2 for the time being.
So I got COD6 on Tuesday afternoon, I bunged the disk in and powered up, First it downloads a new firmware (3.01), it reboots twice, COD6 starts to load, need to patch to 1.01, which it does. I get in and trophies don't work. I can play online however which is good (don't really care about trophies, although they are nice extra).
I come home last night, fire it up and I pick up another patch to 1.02. Jump onto multiplayer and... doesn't work.
Fucking nice one IW. I mean really... do you not test these things? A Patch on release day? Really? A patch the day after release day and then it still doesn't work!

Partly correct.
1. The trophy synchronizing error was happening and was directly related to the PSN maintenance (8-11 GMT downtime) on the 10th of November. That's a fact. http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board.id=419&thread.id=114147

That's right. It has nothing at all to do with installing Modern Warfare 2 on your PS3. Yet another fact.
Isn't this what beta's and demo's are for? Test the platform before the big release.This is another reason i have stopped buying games on release no matter how great the game how epic a time i have had up until the problem them few hours of down time waiting for a patch and my dummy is spat out and my toys set on fire.
I'm having this problem. Trophies were unlocking and syncing for me fine, then they released this patch, and suddenly they'll unlock but won't sync.
I see LordVonPS3 says this was a temporary issue due to maintenance though, so hopefully it will work later. I lost so much sleep last night... I can't live without knowing people are able to view my latest trophies! (lies)
I had the trophy syncing error message earlier (after a few hours on MW2) and I just tried again straight away and it worked fine. Have the other people who have had the error had their trophy sync get to 91% then timeout? That's what happened the first time for me then the second time it was fine.
I'm getting that error code when ever I try and sync up. It gets to 10% then stops and that error code appears. I also can't get on the MP, everything else psn is fine it's just MW2 that isn't working. Thing is my friends who DON"T own MW2 can sync up trophies fine.
It's a good job i got this from sainsburys (thanks CVG for the heads up) i feel sorry for the people who bought the special editions only to find their product doesn't work! After all the hype and the really high price tag they would have checked to see if it worked!

It really isn't related to whether you have MW2 or not. As things currently stand, if you keep on trying, it'll eventually work.

Personally, I think Infinity Ward should have anticipated such high traffic and made sure the game was ready by release - after all there were (are), still many p**sed off PS3 owners.

Forgetting about the (unrelated) trophy issue just for the minute...
Sony routes punters (via PSN) to the game servers. PS3 CoD:MW2 gamers should be casting their eye towards Demonware. Demonware are hosting CoD:MW2 for the PS3 and they're a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision.
I haven't tried syncing my trophies today, but yes I did have an issue a few times trying to sync them. It kept getting to 5% then stopping because of an error. Also, for those complaining about the matchmaking system, I've had no issues whatsoever, every game has worked perfectly for me. Only a few were stopped to assign a new host. I don't see the problem..?
