Microsoft used Comic-Con as a platform to unveil its new Halo anime series. Five production houses (Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation) as well as Microsoft's own newly-formed company, 343 Industries, will each produce a short, the first of which tells the history of Master Chief's Spartans. Take a look at the first clip below.
It doesn't look that bad (in the way that it looks like a typical anime) but it doesn't look like halo!!! crispylog, I agree. CGI would've been better looking n a lot more in keeping with halo's traditional style!
I think you guys are missing the point. These shorts are being made in the typical style of the studios making them, so there is no way they'd look like previous Halo cutscenes/promotional material.

a bit like the funky animated batman compilation done a while ago, i HATE the word anime, its a cartoon, anime is the japanese term for cartoon. same word essentially CALLING IT AN ANIME DOESNT MAKE IT ANY BETTER, oh and the term graphic novels sucks donkey balls covered in marmite and mustard too......

I disagree. Semantics aside my personal impression is that a number of anime/manga shows deal with more graphic visuals in regards to sexual and violent themes. Now for the downright pornographic anime you'll have to turn to hentai which is a whole other ball game.
I gotta admit i cant wait.I just hope it follows the same story as the novels.Im not sure about the graphic style though.Does anyone remember hearing rumours of a halo film who did that just disolve.

yeah echi and all that but pokemon, yugioh etc are still anime.
kfd you actually kind of proved my point, i wouldnt get quite the same reaction from an american forum its more a uk thing. personally i blame manga entertainment for a lot of it. well at least we can get hayao miyazaki films here in the uk now but thats ironicly thanks to disney. us has had a much more varied selection for a long time. but anyway enough of my poorly gramatical written with a ps3 pad ranting, im shattered and have swine flu. IT SUCKS . might try this discussion when my head doesn't feel full of some sort of pudding oh and it was more the word anime meaning adult animation that started me off, tho at least one of those episodes is clearly anime i dont think they will all be.
