Modern Warfare 2's custom killstreaks have been listed on the internet, thanks to a YouTube video leak that's now been pulled.
Unlike the last game - which rewarded players with only satellites, air strikes and attack choppers for chaining kills - Modern Warfare 2 lets players mix and match rewards to fit their skill - all the way to a 25-kill Tactical Nuke (really).

Although this won't be affecting me directly since I won't be buying this game anytime soon (if ever), I do wonder about the mechanics of using a nuke in-game. There would have to be a fine balance between creating a "nuke" that doesn't obliterate the entire map (which is what should happen realistically speaking), nor one that is so weak (yet still more than capable of blowing a man in to pieces,) that it might be better to labele it under a more contemporary form of explosives. Personally I think the latter choice would be wiser, yet it doesn't have quite the same grandiose marketing appeal that using the word "nuke" does.
Tactical nukes are just that - small explosions designed to rain large-scale destruction in a small area. It's not a necessarily nuclear bomb in a traditional 'dropping from a plane' way, it could just be a bag that you leave somewhere which obliterates the area. That's why they're also known as suitcase or backpack nukes.
Doubt I'll be good enough to get a 25 kill streak, also would pi55 your team mates by killing them & ruining their kill streak, may get booted for that
I have never seen anybody get a 25 kill streak in the previous two games ... The very fact there is one worries the hell out of me, as its almost like they expect people to be getting those sorts of numbers.
What worries me about this is that its just going to encourage people to act even more like bottomholes than they do now.
Will still enjoy the SP as Im sure it will be classic COD, but I suspect MP will grate the hell out of me within a couple of weeks, as all these killstreaks as cool as they are will just ruin it.
lets wait and see shall we? To be honest if it's extremely rare to get 25 kill streaks then it should be one of those once-in-a-blue-moon-cool-as-s**t-moments.
It can't be as irritating as the host ending the match which happens all the friggin' time in the current one.
COD has never been a truly competitive game anyway, it's a collectathon at heart, it doesn't matter how well you do as long as you manage the jump-to-your-doom challenge to unlock a natty camouflage.
The biggest concern for me is that the guns you unlock aren't a bag of bottom like the M14 and G3 were, they're like pea shooters compared to the rest of the bottomnal.

The use of the term "Tactical nuke" is somewhat misleading. For an example of a tactical nuke in use have a look at the image provided in the link below. While tactical nukes were not designed to take out large population centers like strategic nukes are, the size of the explosion compared to the expected size of the online multi-player maps are likely going to be inconsistent. Nevermind the fallout and the effects of radiation (this also applies to suitcase nukes - aka. "dirty bombs".
I swear by using it you actually kill yourself too.
That would be consistent with expectations providing there isn't a long timer (which would damage game play), and that it isn't an artillery fired tactical nuke (this option can probably be ruled out as no mention of it has been made).
I'm sure I saw dogs on a multiplayer video, oh well. As for the kill streaks, I managed to get to 21 on COD4. People don't worry it's going to be extremely difficult to reach over 15 in this game me thinks.
