What a shame that parents won't be keeping little Timmy and his chums off this though, well not at least until one blames COD:MW2 for their son taking a throwing knife into school and slinging it at Mr Rogers..... _________________ Remember everything is eventual, guns will make us powerful, butter will only make us fat.

Why are the BBFC still rating games anyway? They lost responsibility for games to PEGI. |

@Chimpanzee - I think PEGI only comes into effect around Novemberish. I tried checking the PEGI site to make sure but wierdly they don't mention it. _________________ Also known as Xen Withanex or luttman83.

I've noticed this with recent releases such as Brutal Legend. Why the hell are some games still getting BBFC ratings, the new PEGI ratings are on most games now so we know PEGI's new system has come into effect so why hasn't the BBFC backed off yet? |

With no dedicated servers and VAC as it's "anticheat", it doesn't matter what rating they give it... I'm not buying it.
I play CoD for the multiplayer aspect, and to have it crippled and still be at a premium price point, all I can say is "No, thank you." |

Does this mean that I won't have to listen to racist American pre-teens spouting idiotic drivel in my ear if I decide to play online?
If so, then fan-Goddam-tastic. Count me in. |

I actually think this won't be more violent than WAW. I think the only thing that raises the certificate is the torture scene, with electricity, in single player. Plus, the 15 certificate for WAW was wrong, it should have been an 18. But then, the BBFC DID rate it, and they know nothing about videogames, so I suppose it makes sense. _________________ Modern Warfare 2 - 10.11.09 |

Yup, so it did. I haven't played WaW though. But WaW was made by Treyarch, MW2 is Infinity Ward. _________________ My derring-do allows me to dance the rigadoon around you. |

I find the whole rating system ridiculous to be honest with you. I understand different countries need their own rating baords for certain reasons, however (I'm 17 myself), if, for example, I found I couldn't buy MW2 using a credit card, I'd simply buy it off an american site. Same f**king game, just I can buy it a year older, how stupid is that?
I know it's a bit of a catch 22, but that just seems dumb to me. |

Now is one of those rare times I wish I wasn't Australian. I swear, if I can't play MW2 the way Infinity Ward intended, and instead I get some watered down version, I'll be circling the OFLC Offices with an AC130. Don't say I didn't warn you OFLC! |

Bailey here is a bit of truth for you, ..and although this is classed as technically-illegal, in you doing this (if you decide to).
You can actually buy a copy from a England store, which will then be shipped to AUS, basically it isn't region locked (only american copies are), so i would presume you can get a copy non-watered down, and ship it to your house.
It would be classed as illegal in AUS to do such a thing, I think.
However if you want to play it without the very much so incoming watered-down version, then thats the next best thing.
(I have been sending such things to an AUS friend for a year or so) ^^ |

That's not true because if a game is region locked as NTSC then the PAL version will be region locked too (same when it comes to NTSC-J). Though as Australia uses PAL you're still right with being able to import the game from here and it working (if it ends up being region locked as opposed to region free that is).
But chances are that if he did that it wouldn't arrive on release date.
Plus I'm pretty sure it's only illegal for the games to be sold in Australia, and seen as importing is buying from a seller outside AUS it should be perfectly legal (after all it's not illegal to own a copy as far as I'm aware). _________________ Gamertag: Racxie |
