New Super Mario Bros. Wii video

74.2 seconds of fresh footage
Nintendo has released a New Super Mario Bros. Wii video and according to Official Nintendo Magazine it "shows some of the skills that Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom pals will have at their disposal as they go on another Peach rescue mission.

"We can see Mario in his Penguin, Fire, Ice and Helicopter suits and the plumber also leaps on a Yoshi. We can also see him using a Pow block to get all the coins on a screen."

We're off to review the game this week at Nintendo's HQ. If there's anything you'd like to know in particular, throw it in the comments below.

I am genuinely giddy as a schoolboy at the prospect of playing this. I know I said in another thread that I have had enough of Mario for now.. I was wrong, I forgot totally about this game. /slaps himself

Ask the Nintendo guys about any prospect of an add on or theh like for a level editor as Miyamoto stated that he likes the idea of levels being created for games like this. Maybe downloadable through Wiiware. I guess the code to the game would need tweaking though. Maybe it is wishful thinking though to have it this early.

I don't care what anyone says, the Wii is still the place to be for genuinely old-school core gameplay. - Just look at next month's releases. Super Mario Bros, Muramasa, Boy and his Blob. - The kind of stuff you just don't get elsewhere. Give me those three over Call of Duty any day of the week. - To me, they are so much more 'hardcore' than the popularist, big-budget, blanket-coverage cash-cows that now clog up today's games charts.
