GT fans are getting their knickers in a twist over a new Mercedes video which appears to show the first glimpse of the Gran Turismo 5 packaging containing three discs.
The video, which showcases the new Mercedes SLS AMG and its recreation in GT5, casually pans past GT producer Kazunori Yamauchi holding a box clearly labelled 'Gran Turismo 5', and you can see three DVD-sized cases inside.
There's one grey case, which looks like it could be the game, and two other white cases which we guess would contain bonus material if they make the final retail package next March.
Look around the 50 second mark in the video (spotted by GTPlanet) above. Check out the rest of it too though, it's a pretty interesting watch.
One disc for the game itself, one disc with all of the car show episodes you can buy and download in-game and maybe one with info on the companies and cars featured in the game.

I'm pretty sure my Star Wars Original Trilogy came with an extra disc. Didn't the Battlefront 2 demo bundled with it come on this disc as well?
I know I sound crazy, but I would like so much for the GT team to work on a Wipeout game ... don't get me wrong I enjoy Wipeout allot just think it would be nice to see what the GT team could do with the game...

I'd love to see Polyphony do a game where you can rattle off the sides of the track, ohh wait a minute,,, Mind you at least in Wipeout it penalised you for hitting the sides.
GT5 is looking foockin gorgeous though and i really do hope that the addition of damage has taken away the ping pong nature of the last few games. I'd still love to see a penalty added for cutting the track like NFS:Shift had where your lap time wouldn't count or the one that Forza has where if you hit the sides or go off the track your ranking will not be as good as someone who has a perfect lap even if you've got a better time. It'll make the leaderboards a hell of a lot more fair. I'm hoping GT5 is the game that draws me back to the series as i've not played a GT game since the second one.

It's not the quantity of discs that bothers me, it's the use of just standard DVD boxes in a bit of cardboard rather than a nicely presented folding box.

well there are penalties in GT5 Prologue, only problem with them is that they were implemented wrong, and only you could be penalised! how many times have you taken over a car and then go into the corner and have the A.I car you just passed ram you off the track coz you're braking furiously yet the A.I car is able to speed away with no ramming penalty! It p**sed me off everytime! but hey the game was fantastic and these penalties were the only problem i had with the game, not because they are penalties to which effect do make the game alil better but to the fact that they weren't done right! so hopefully this is being sorted for the official game! anyway how much would i love to work for polyphony! all that equipment was sweet

Wouldn't surprise me that the reason they keep upping the size of the HDD is to hide the fact that alot of your HDD space gets taken up by installs. Happy i upgraded my 60gb to a 320gb as i wouldn't have any space left due to game installs by now.
