Gearbox fixes 'broken' PS3 Borderlands

PSN friend lists now work, says developer
Gearbox has addressed a large issue in the PS3 version of Borderlands, just in time for the European release.

North American gamers - who can already buy the role-playing shooter - had complained that the PS3 version was not displaying players' online friends properly, virtually grinding online games to a halt.

Gearbox responded this morning: "We are very pleased to report that using PSN friends lists with the game should now work properly for all PS3 customers. The fix has been released invisibly and should work automatically for all PSN users on the PS3 platform.

"No special action is required by PS3 customers to apply the fix - just play the game and you'll find that everything works fine now. We thank you all for your patience and for making us aware of the issue!"

Good news then, especially considering as we rather like the game. Read our Borderlands review, if you haven't already.

Good to see them sort out problems straight away,
Although if its invisible does that mean it was something on their end?

Because if it was the game surely it would need a patch?
