C&C;: Red Alert on iPhone this month

Soviet-slaying strategy game gets mobile remake
EA's set to release an iPhone version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert - and it's by no means a straight port.

The iPhone version sports colourful, stylised visuals, units plucked from various games in the series and of course, touch screen controls that may or may not work properly.

Disappointingly there's no wireless multiplayer, just 12 "combat levels" to play through as both Soviet and Ally factions featuring traditional C&C; base building and combat.

It's out on October 23. If the controls work and EA adds a multiplayer patch, we're in.

No multiplayer for a C&C game = a bit of a fail.
