SBK dev does World Rally Championship

Headed to 360, PS3 and PC in 2010
SBK dev Black Bean has announced it's working on the official World Rally Championship game, due for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2010.

Simon Long, ISC CEO, said: "The official WRC game will engage a whole new audience for the sport and we're tremendously excited at the opportunities to grow our fan base and the profile of the WRC.

"It provides a hugely powerful touch point for us in which to showcase the WRC to consumers, and it will be the most realistic and playable rally game of all time. We chose to work with Black Bean Games because they have a proven track record making top level games with the official license in two-wheel motorsport."

Virgilio Bixio, Black Bean Games President, added: "We are particularly proud to bring the WRC franchise back into the videogames arena after so many years of absence. Milestone has been working hard on this title and our expectations are really high.

"We will be able to provide the utmost competitive title that will provide extremely positive results. Furthermore, Milestone's work is enriched by the overwhelming support we have received from the WRC community."

Wonderful news! After a certain British developer of what was once the best rallying give up on the sport it's good to see a company have faith in rallying, and a belief they can make an economically viable pure rally game. Fingers crossed the game doesn't pander too much to the casual market and aims to please the true fans. Gotta love developers who have a passion for the sport their game is based on.

Whilst I'm happy to here that there will be a new WRC game, I'm disappointed that it isn't being made by Evolution.

They made brilliant WRC games, I still play the championship mode in WRC Rally Evolved.

and there was me thinking that gt5 would have to do us rally afficanidos.
brilliant news heres hoping that it will be the spirtual successor to the pre dirt mc rae games, enough proper rally elements with a handling model thats easy to learn but tough to master. asking to0 much???

I would have been very happy with a HD version of WRC Rally Evolved.
