Infinity Ward has responded to yesterday's energy drink promotion giving away codes for a Modern Warfare 2 map pack said to be due in "spring 2010".
Fans expectedly jumped to conclusions over the drink promotion, and started complaining that any maps ready by the game's November 10 release should be included on the disc - not held for DLC.
An Infinity Ward spokesperson cleared up the confusion: "I think you might be confused by that. We haven't even begun thinking about what our DLC will be, let alone finish any.

Everything from the rrp to the dlc to the way this game is going to be completely whored is making me really look forward to side swerving it completely..
What happened to all the people posting comments on this site? When did you all become so jaded and cynical? It's the same sad responses from the same people over and over. Every news story is met with open hostility, and every new piece of tech or change to the status quo is brought down by some over the top luddite reactions.
I don't care, call the money grabbing if you will but if I made this game I'd look to get as much money out of it as I could, look how many poo games are released for £40, CoD from Infinity Ward is a brilliant game and the creators deserve to make the money they do from this game if you consider other games and how poo they are but still cost you £40.
Well seeing as how COD4 still gets plenty of play today (had it from release date) and also seeing the trailers/news of MW2 thus far they can rip off away for me. You know what if they released a new map pack for COD4 tomorrow I would buy it. The game is immense and frankly I will pay for quality and with this franchise and other leading ones such as Gears, GTA, Halo etc DLC is often an exciting prospect and one which adds longevity to such titles.
I can understand people moaning about DLC for cack games but what is wrong with extras for great games?? Fine be a miserly weasel but christ don't fill the message boards with innate ramblings every time such a story emerges. Fact 1-MW2 will sell by the container ship-load, Fact2- so will it's DLC
As for the RRP I would bet Activision decide this not IW anyway, either way it if gives me half as much playtime as MW1 it will be worth £80 never mind £55 (or for those with sense £40 on pre-order)
Besides, I bet any money the whingers will buy the whole lot anyway...
I get the impression that most of the moaners here either haven't played COD4 or are just anti anything that's this popular, the type that think that only people like themselves should be allowed to play games so that they can remain "cool" and "counter-culture", which is very sad indeed.
