The one, two, three, fourth Resident Evil movie has come out of hiding with word that Resident Evil: Afterlife has been officially confirmed. Though we took actress Milla Jovovich's word for it when we said she was working on it back in July. It'll also be the first in the series to be shot in 3D. Exciting.
Director Paul W.S. Anderson says, "Alice's battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn't finished. Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It's time to settle the score."
Screen Gems President Clint Culpepper said, "The Resident Evil franchise has successfully entertained audiences around the globe and we are pleased to bring yet another installment to fans with the same creative team but this time in 3-D."
So a new Resi film in 3D next autumn. Do you care or would you rather see 28 Months Later?
I liked the Resident Evil movies. I don't know what people expect but no movie based on a game is going to be better or as good as the game nor will it compare well to other films, much in the same way that games based on movies are rarely very good (don't mention GoldenEye, it was a different generation)
I think I'd rather see "28 Months Later". Still haven't watched that one, yet I enjoyed its predecessor "28 Days Later". What happened to Milla? She used to be proclaimed one of the hottest up-and-coming Hollywood stars and these days I only seem to think and/or hear of her in the RE setting. Ah well, perhaps she does other works that I just haven't heard about and if she's well off finanically and the desire to dominate isn't her bag then I don't have a problem with that.
Btw, how can this new movie really go anywhere unless it rejuvinates a destroyed Earth? I didn't watch the previous RE movie, but I was under the impression Earth was all but destroyed, so what exactly is left of Umbrella Corporation (terrible name to this day,) to get back at?
They should really make RE 1,2,3 or 4 ( the actual games mind you ) into new films without taking them in a ridiculous direction. Who the f**k is Alice cause i certainly dont remember one in any of the games and these films really pi**ed me off as they are the worst game-film adaption I have ever seen, pacman would have made a better film than the first 3 RE movies
First one was.. Meh.. Why not in the Mansion. I enjoyed the second one as it at least felt like 2 and 3 with all the homages they put in there. 3 was WTF?!?! The worlds gone to pot?!?! Hated that premise. Should have kept it more like the games. I couldn't care less for Alice. Hated her character. Die please... again!
28 months later PLLLEEEEAAAASSSEE, any day of the week...month. Get Danny Boyle directing it though please, 28 weeks was garbage, entertaining but garbage nonetheless.

I beg to differ. Watch Uwe Boll's version of "Wing Commander"... A universe with so much backstory and potential, and true to form good ol' Uwe ruined it. I mean, he butchered it.
