A Visceral Games job ad has leaked confirmation of Dead Space 2, revealing that the 360 and PS3 follow-up is currently in pre-production with the original team.
"The previous instalment in the Dead Space franchise received numerous awards for gameplay, visuals, and sound design, and the same core team is in place to create an even better follow up," reads the Linked In ad. Someone's getting told off...
"The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place," it continues.

"We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions. The Games Label at EA is 100% committed to this IP, and has already worked on IP extensions such as comic, animated features, and action figures."
We bet EA has total control over the PR though and won't like this leak one bit...
For the record, we can't bloody wait. Read the original Dead Space review to fuel the hype.
I don't see why anyone would get into trouble for leaking something that we all know will be made. Who the in their right mind would not expect a sequel? We all knew this was coming. Great stuff!
Just make this one scary and not a total blammo fest this time, eh?
This!
That's a bit unfair - it might not have been scary, but it was definitely worrying at times. Not to mention bloody brilliant. Resi 4 wasn't scary either, but the quality of that is second to none.
When the demo hit xbox live the other year I disliked Dead Space but my brother purchased the game about 8 months after its initial release and I loved it, it is easily in the top 5 list of games I've played on the xbox 360.

It was definately atmospheric- and the gameplay was solid- but as with even Resi 4- the whole point of the game was that it was supposed to be scary. I felt that even with the great graphics and sounds it was just a sci-fi third person House of the Dead (as in nasties popping up every couple of seconds for you to plough through)! I enjoyed it as a survival shooter though- the best bit was with the regenerating creature- that did panic me a bit I must admit!
I still think that Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica are the best in the Resi franchise too. The only games that freak me out are the Project Zero games- but that's mainly due to the really horrible sound effects that occur when a ghost appears (makes my hair stand on end thinking about it ).
Nice, can't wait! Dead Space is one of my favourite games of the current gen. Despite what people say, I found the game rather tense and yes, scary in some parts. Mainly down to the brilliantly done sound design.
Also I think Dead Space was definitely scary enough in places (the ending made me jump when I was watching it at 5am in the dark), but I think it needed less shooty bits and more exploration.
I played the demo on live. I really did not like it. Have never played the full game. Is the demo an accurate representation of the actual game? Cause if it is not then i might consider picking up a cheap copy of it.

I think another highly relevant factor is the individual player's ability to immerse him/her-self in the game. Personally I found "Dead Space" to have creepy and adrenaline inducing moments that had my heart rate increase, my grip on the gamepad tighten and my skin crawling. Was it the scariest experience I've ever had? No, but I think it's fair to say that it achived what it set out to do and then some.
Oouuh! Good one, Monkey! *SPOILER ALERT!* Reminds me of the "experiment" that reappears several times throughout the game...That thing induced a sense of tightly controlled panic (an oxymoron perhaps, but so be it) while running around in frozen sleeping quarters devoid of oxygen....Good times; bring on the sequel!
Glad they've further confirmed this, love it, love it. Just playing it through for the second time, atm this time on hard a nice challenge. But pls dont put another Laser / Asteroid section in it, shooting those rocks was just annoying

No, absolutely not. I believe they made a grave error with the demo as it threw you into the deep end and you basically got slaughtered within twenty seconds.
The finished game is excellent. I only bought it as it was cheap 6 months ago thinking I'd swap it. I'm now on the fourth playthrough trying to get the Platinum trophy. It's easily the best survival horror of this generation, and is probably my fave game at the moment.
