Remember when Xbox Live Arcade games were less than 50MB? Well those days look to be long gone, as Microsoft officially removes its size restrictions from 360 digital games.
In a meeting with Microsoft's director of digital games, Scott Austin, IGN was told that 2GB is the new limit for Xbox Live Arcade titles - but not because of any restrictions imposed by Microsoft; 2GB is the technical limitation of XBLA's file structure.
Games on Demand, a section of the Xbox Live Marketplace that holds larger retail games, uses a different file structure to Live Arcade and thus that limitation doesn't exist, says Austin.

The previous limit for Arcade games was 150MB - brought in for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - before various games including Portal (1GB), Shadow Complex (1GB) and most recently Red Alert 3 (2GB) unofficially smashed the official cap.
Although it's obvious the size limit's been unofficially axed for some time now, this is good news for 360 owners. The days of inferior visuals on XBLA compared to PSN and PC are hopefully long gone.
Even my 120GB HDD is starting to feel a little small now. I hoping we'll see the 250GB HDD sold on it's own. Doubt it though.
Saying that, I guess I could delete all my Halo 3 DLC seeing as it's all on the Mythic Disc that came with ODST.
Off Topic: Does anyone know if you can install ODST to the hard disk?
You can install the multiplayer disk aswell takes up about 3.5 gig
I know you /can/ install both disks. But should I? Didnt Bungie say that the Halo 3 engine had been optimised to run from the disk? I was just wondering if that had changed for ODST!

Yeah but wasn't the original Halo 3 disc one of the ones that caused longer loading if installed to the HDD and we were advised not to do it as it caused MP games to nearly double the loading times? Has this problem been sorted?
Just to clarify. Do not install the MP disk as it hasn't been optimised and you'll get the same long loading times as you did on Halo 3. Only the ODST disk should be installed.
2GB? That's more than enough space for Dreamcast games. Here's hoping Sega and Capcom release Power Stone, MSR, Jet Set Radio, Code: Veronica and Shen Mue.

Ahhh, Powerstone would be great as there do not seem to be many 4 player single console games games release anymore.....
Make it Powerstone 2 and you can count me in! I bought a 120gb hard drive for £60 from China a couple of weeks back... but it still hasn't come! My poor old 20gb is chock full and I think the Forza demo is gonna push it over the edge!
Think I better clear some of the old guff off of it.

Shenmue and Shenmue 2 will do me thank you very much Sega! Pleeeeeaaaaaaase!??!
Love to see the powerstone games come to XBLA, plus anyone remember Toy Commander? That was one of the best 4 player games ever, I miss the DC if SEGA were still making consoles I would own them for sure.

It says on the back of the case that the game is "optimized for the hard drive" but it doesn't clarify whether it's for both or just the campaign disc. But I would of assumed it'd include the multiplayer as well to inform people because otherwise it'd be a bit obvious wouldn't it? =/

Nope it hasn't. You can install the ODST disc to your HDD, but the Mythic Multiplayer disc still has the same issue as the Halo 3 disc. DON'T DO IT!
