Eidos and Warner Bros. have announced that Batman: Arkham Asylum has shipped over 2.5 million units to retail since launch.
The Rocksteady Studios developed title debuted late last month for PS3 and Xbox 360, while last week saw the launch of the PC version and the game's first downloadable content.
Arkham Asylum topped the UK all formats chart for two weeks following its release and took two of the top five spots on August's US software chart.
"The tremendous critical and commercial success of Batman: Arkham Asylum sets a new benchmark for superhero games," said Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Rocksteady Studios created an excellent game and the sales numbers demonstrate how a powerful franchise fused with high-quality production resonates with consumers."

totally agree a No Man's Land inspired sequel would be great. Bring back the scarecrow too. His sections in the original were definately some of the best moments in the game for me.

Agree ! the 1st encounter with the scarecrow was epic for me .. the atmosphere , the music , noise .. was simply awesome
..i hate disagreeing with everyone but: I loathed the Scarecrow sections..I understand what they were trying to do, but turning it into a hide and seek platformer just..annoyed me. No Man's Land...hmm perhaps. One based on the Hush Arc would also work..anything to beat the crap out of Superman.
I just wish they'd had more detective stuff..him, you know, being a the world's greatest detective. The Riddler stuff was great, but not essential to the storyline. The 'follow the dots' detective stuff was just a cop out really.
Other than that, and my own ineptitude at the combat system, it was a great game with some great ideas which dragged a little at the end.
and why no-one will ever include Robin i dont understand. FFS put in Damien. About as far away from 90's era movie Robin as you can get.
Cool game an open world gotham with DLC for crimes and new stories would really be a killer if done with care,no robin the wee lad is a cat and kills the original Darkknight moody atmosphere.
