In a somewhat expected move, Activision's delayed Bizarre Creations' Blur until next year.
The publisher says it's moved the PGR dev's latest "to give the development team more time to enhance the game's innovative and distinctive online multiplayer gameplay".
"We are committed to making Blur a great new racing franchise, and we are very encouraged by the game's design," says CEO Mike Griffith.
"The additional time will allow the studio to fully optimize the vision they set out to create for Blur including a distinctive and groundbreaking multiplayer mode that will appeal to a broad audience."
There's another one for (presumably) the beginning of next year then. For more on the game check out our Blur hands-on preview and our Blur interview with lead designer Ged Talbot.

I foresee many delays to the already delayed games, come next year. There is no way that all of these games (You know the ones) will be released pre April 2010.
Not on your nelly.
As long as GOWIII and Heavy Rain don't get pushed back, then I don't mind.
HHHHMMMMMMMM...... was quietly hoping this might be a good game...oah well hopefully they make good use of the extra time. 2009 as a gaming year excluding a few exceptions is turning into a bit of a non starter now..

Swap them for Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2 and you have a deal !
I still think 2010 will be the best year that ill have experienced in Gaming so far (fingers crossed).
I would hazard a guess that the delay is more about moving its release away from DiRT2 and NFS Shift, to give it a fighting chance of actually shifting a decent number of copies

Happy Days indeed.
Yeah, I was a bit selfish there. I don't suppose a delay to Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2 would go down well, either!
Saying that, I have an odd curiosity for Alan Wake. I actually really hope it lives up to its promise as it looks like my type of game.

The 4 aforementioned Games should be slugging it out for GOTY, easy.
Mind you it might be the first time i bet against Kratos in a fight .
I'm not entirely susprised by this move... with Dirt 2 just being released, and the soon to be released might of FORZA 3 and GT5 in the coming months, coupled with the current financial status of the UK, it makes sense to not go up against those 2 different, yet extremely impacting issues.
Looks like developers/publihers are:
a)Avoiding going up against COD:MW2, Halo 3DST & Uncharted 2 and b)riding out the current financial climate, to maximise on sales (which also relates to point 'a' if you only have enough cash for one game)
well pgr was gr8 ,wats the use of being technical if your adding nitro to the mix etc, thats what happens when another company pulls the strings, man another poxy need for speed is all we need!
