New Left 4 Dead DLC date confirmed

And Left 4 Dead 2 demo set for October 27
Valve has confirmed that Crash Course, the second slice of downloadable pie for Left 4 Dead, will be out for Xbox 360 and PC next Tuesday, September 29.

Speaking at EA's pre-TGS press conference (via Joystiq), Valve's Kim Swift also confirmed that a Left 4 Dead 2 demo will be released on October 27. Happy days.

The Crash Course Campaign bridges the gap between the end of No Mercy and the beginning of Death Toll in the original game, says Valve, adding new locations, new dialogue from the original cast and an explosive finale.

While containing both Survival maps and a Co-operative Campaign, the primary goal of Crash' is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, it says, resulting in a streamlined version of the game's existing Versus campaigns.

It'll be free on PC and 560 MS Points (£4.76) for Xbox 360 users.

Hey CVG, did they confirm how much it will cost on the 360?

Thanks

Anyway, yeah, I will get this if it is a reasonable price. I love L4D to bits and am looking forward to playing some new stuff. I wasn't massively impressed with Survival mode, but it was good for free

the DLC will be 560 points

I'm a huge fan of L4D.. but I'm not tempted by this at all it says it offers a full versus experience in just 30 minutes?

Thats pretty good, but isn't that a advertisers way of saying that its going to be short in length?

Not impressed, and Valve are planning on going up against Forza 3 and GTA4: The Ballad of Gay Tony?

hmmm.....

While I do have all 1000 Points on the game when another one of my mates get the game I always help them out on it.
I saw there was an update for the game which upped the Achevements from 50 to 60 but then deleted all of the others ones I have earned on the game's menu (not as bad as it sounds, all totals were still, example, 10 of 10, and so only had to do something once more to unlock it again).

Somewhere I had heard this DLC is out today. I'm a bit gutted I have to wait a bit more now.

Also, am I the only one who is happy that L4D2 is being released within a year of the orginal? As I said earlier, I do love L4D but it is about time that some new stuff comes out for it, and a sequal with 5 larger missions and new bosses/infected etc has come about at the perfect time if you ask me. In fact, as long as L4D2 takes up as much as my online time as L4D did and I enjoy it as much, I hope L4D3 come out next November. Srsly.

Value have said they are more likely to make larger DLC packs for L4D2 than make a 3rd game. And they are looking into making some of the better fan made levels on the PC free DLC for the 360.

I'm sure I read somewhere when they first announced it, that it will take 30 mins to do the campaign, not versus. Just one chapter on the existing campaigns can take 30 mins for both sides to do sometimes, if things are going badly.

There were snazzy new health meters when I played it last night. Typically, the new GTA dlc and this will come to 60 points more than a 2100 card. Which are only £14.95 at zavvi by the way.

Hmm. I wonder if that is worth £5 or not. Probably, it should be a bit less, but at the same time I do love L4D! I probably will get it actually, even though I will only be playing it for a couple of months before L4D2.

I thought they went out of business? Are they still online retailing? I could just find out for myself now, by using a search engine, but I had already started typing and I'm too lazy. I like to be spoon fed things, such as jelly.

I agree. As an FPS fan, I do feel quite spoilt for choice at the moment! Also, Bioshock 2 in February! :Face like Homer Simpson thinking of doughnuts:

Rest those tired fingers conkers! £14.95 from their website, which isn't really their website anymore. It's run by thehut.com I think.

In fact, if you can summon the strength to press your left mouse button - http://www.zavvi.co.uk/games/platforms/xbox-360/xbox-360-live-2100-points-card/10021725.htm - also got a new controller for £17.95.

Now someone get this man some jelly. Stat.

Pulling myself out of my languid stupor I ventured into using a modicum of energy to click on your link, and lo, to the distaste of my eyes, it was forbidden. Or verboten if you’re a Nazi. I went to the site though, that is good value for a pad, the points seem to have gone up to £15.95 though, and I’m always too impatient to wait for the post.

Thanks for the jelly request.

Oh and Monty, please don;t type cum face on here again, it conjures up awful imagines of people on their vinegar strokes which have no right to be in my mind!

Ha ha, sorry man. Just trying to convey my excitment for the list of FPSs coming out between now and next February.

I think the link should've ended ...html. They have them at both prices oddly enough. Yeah, there are plenty of places to get them emailed to you though for a couple of quid more, but they should get to me in time for the DLC.

So I guess there are going to be a few disappointed fans of an american rock band whose name I can't remember, who were supposed to play said rock band at the new DLC today on xbl.

Does anyone know if the cricket bat is still to be included in this game, or was it just a publicity stunt when the Ashes was on?

I have a feeling that was a mistake. I remember reading something relating to Crash Course, on here I think, and they had a quote or video and that mentioned the bat. Then I decided they were actually talking about L4D2. Might be wrong though.

No, I think you are right. I actually meant L4D2 and not crash course!
monty_79 on 23 Sep '09
A 30 min versus game? No thanks! When watching casts and tournament matches online, 30 minutes just wouldn't be suitable, even with an explosive finale. I'm just glad I'm not paying for the map.
