The Beatles: Rock Band is preparing to take the world by storm this week. And one person who's looking to try it for the first time is Sir Paul McCartney, who's yet to dabble.
In an Observer article (via The Guardian), McCartney was asked if he'd played The Beatles: Rock Band yet. You'd think he would have, wouldn't you? Especially after he appeared at E3 this year promoting the massive collaboration.

"I haven't, actually. I'm kind of, you know, looking forward to playing it. My excuse is, I play guitar. I was on the real record. So the idea of pushing buttons and things in time is kind of slightly intriguing for me, but it's actually more interesting to do a show like this..." he said pointing to a real concert.

I play real guitar and I've tried Guitar Hero (but not Rock Band). Not much, admittedly, but I couldn't bring myself to promote something I hadn't actually tried yet.
I don't see the outrage over this. Its a bloody rare event whan a celebrity actually uses something they endorse.
Like he said the games about him, he can play every song on the game with a proper guitar. I think its good that he's waited and respected the devs enough to let them just make the game without fussing them.
Would I play a game in which I played myself, but a version of myself that is limited compared to what I can do in real life? Probably not.
At least he admitted it. I bet loads of the faces on games barely play the games they promote. And who is going to trust McCartney's opinion on a computer game, let alone one he stands to make a packet from? I doubt anyone on here would, but I guess it's different for the Beatles fans who'll buy a console just to play this game.
And the Paul and Ringo bit at E3 was bloody awful.
Wow. How mature and enlightened to fire verbal abuse because he has not 'played' the game.
I do not care on his opinion on the game as he is in his 60s and as such probably is not the best person to endorse a medium he has no understanding of.
What he did do for the game (which is covered in the Observer's article - which i doubt you would read given it requires a degree of intelligence) is to ensure that it respected the Beatles and was acurate in terms of content. He put a large degree of effort into this to ensure it wasn't some quick money maker that short changed fans. He gave a lot of advice on the trivia as well as the songs and venues that were included. That was what he was endorseing. The roduct as a true relection of the Beatles (not a bootleg ripoff).
I suggest you grow up and read things before attacking them rather than making comment on a small soundbite which is taken out of context.

Precisely. If he did come out and state he's addicted to it, everyone would dismiss it as publicity whoring.

Don't even attempt to patronise me. How funny you should judge my intelligence off one little comment i left. I hate Paul mcCartney and it has f**k all to do with the fact he's played rock band or not. I was just looking for an excuse to hurl abuse. So please don't come in here trying to "educate" me on how these things work. kthnxbye.
