Even though the world is at peace with downloading songs and albums (legally), consumers are still more comfortable buying movies and games on a disc, says Rockstar co-founder, Dan Houser. That's why GTA episode 2, The Ballard Of Gay Tony, is going out in a box as well as online.
"I know, as a consumer, I'm more comfortable buying songs, which are almost like playing a jukebox, than I am buying movies as purely digital items," Houser told USA Today. "We all feel that way, so we can surely get more people to experience it if we put it on a disc."

hopefully among all this rockstar/take 2 news today they'll announce the ps3 version of the gta4 dlc double pack. wishfull thinking on my part but one can but hope!!
Hey they went in bed with MS willingly. He shouldn't cry about getting more sales if it was on a physical disc. Should have thought about that beforehand.
Just like GTA on DS, its not working out that great huh all those new platforms?
Now nobody shoot me, but when it was first released I despised GTA IV. Bought it on day one, played it for 6 hours and was really disappointed. Last week I popped it back into the machine and this time around I'm loving it.
Now the news that both DLC chapters will be released on a disc is great news to me as I was thinking I'd have to buy another HDD as there's so little room on mine.
He's right though, people prefer to hold the shiny disc and it will be a loooong time until downloads wipe that out.
ps3 GTA DLC has ten times more chance than a 360-uncharted.
you say its bankrolled by MS now, but were quick to point out in the past that it was only a loan to be paid back by rockstar.
when asked about DLC for ps3 the guy couldnt flat out deny it. which he would have done if he could have.
they have tons of money from the profit, more than enough to pay back the debt and the exclusive deal is done once the 2 eps are finished.
why would rockstar shun millions of pounds for the sake of it?!
it pains you that its possible that it will appear on ps3, most people believe it eventually will.
it makes sense, so why not?! with a few tweaks, and no loan to pay back, it will be pure profit. lots of it. it would probably spike the original base games' sales to boot.
they'd need to be idiots to not do it with the exclusitivity expired.
other "360-exclusive" DLC has appeared on ps3. and that wouldnt have been half as profitable as these ones.
I'm really surprised that anyone is actually interested in these episode deelys. I'm not saying this in a sour-grapes way, because I own a 360... I just honestly couldn't give a shit. GTA4 is ancient history as far as I'm concerned. Good game, but I've had my fun with it and have long since moved on.

thats the whole idea of DLC. to revive interest in older titles...
unless its been sliced out the main game on purpose - done and dusted by the time the game is even released. thats just greed.
svd_faghopper please, we are all asking you nicely: get the hell off CVG! nobody likes you! you damn ps3 fanboy! you're even worse than those gay kids in halo 3 matchmaking that never shut up! oh wait... you definately are one of those type of kids! you never shut up!f**kin reject.

Not that I'm taking sides but to be fair svd had a perfectly decent point and was mature about it. Can't say the same about your response though...

then you missed out on Lost and Damned which was nearly(if not better)than the main story, one of the best DLC packs for any game out there
i am replaying GTA4 now,and having a great time again,GTA4's Liberty City still hasn't been beaten in any game since(although Mafia II certainly looks like it may surpass Liberty City)

Because you utter dolt. MS wouldn't give 50mil to R* to make 2 games and then let them give it to the competition. There might be more episodes that'll come out for the PS3. Considering the popularity of the current 2 i don't doubt it.
But as far as the Lost and the Damned and Gay Tony are Concerned its not going to happen. I'm bored of tards like your goodself going on about it.
If you want them so badly why don't you just buy the episode disc and enjoy them. The Lost and the Damned was fantastic and i'm sure Gay tony will be just as good, being able to get both for £25 is a bloody bargain as far as i'm concerned.
I swear you don't even have the capacity for proper contextual and logical reasoning.
Then again its probably just sour grapes because they aren't on the PS3.
