DiRT 2 gets London launch gig

Pre-launch gig to feature bands and beer - but you'll have to win the tickets
Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is to get a beer and band-filled launch gig next Thursday, September 10.

The exclusive one-off event in The Arches, London will feature performances from artists on the game's admittedly rather good soundtrack as well as (and we're assuming this one) enough free larger to put you out of commission for Friday morning.

Unfortunately you can't buy tickets, so this is actually a bit of a nob-tease announcement. What you can do though, Codies says, is try and win some passes through NME and NME Radio this week.

In addition to the gig itself on September 10th, NME Radio will also broadcast an hour-long DiRT 2 takeover show from 2.00 to 3.00 pm featuring tracks from the game's soundtrack.

The party will feature performances from post-punk/art-rock outfit The Rakes, lo-fi indie pop project Dinosaur Pile Up, and metalcore band Glamour of the Kill. We'll be there, propping up the bar and ruining Friday morning's news rush in advance.

You can find out loads more about the game by hitting this link and checking out our fancy Dirt 2 website, which features all the latest movies. You might even pick up some tips. Dirt 2 is due on September 11.
