The first official gameplay details have emerged for second GTA IV DLC Episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony, ahead of this afternoon's planned trailer release.
According to an article on USA Today, the "last add-on" for GTA IV will have you parachuting through the Liberty City skies and riding on the top of subway trains as Dominican-born, Luis Lopez.
"Gay Tony has Luis at one point parachuting from a helicopter onto a glass-windowed skyscraper," the article says. "Inside he blasts his way to his prey a few floors below and shoots his target, who then topples out of the bullet-ridden window. Luis dives out after him, wearing a parachute that glides him to safety.

"In another scene," it continues, "Luis drops on to the top of a moving subway train from a bridge and unhooks one of the cars for a maniacal high-rolling collector of one-of-a-kind artifacts. A Skyhook chopper airlifts the freed subway car away." It sounds a slight more action packed than The Lost's outing.
Rockstar's Bruce Dugan said Luis is "a man of action," torn between friends and family "and this drive for wealth and power". "The higher you climb in Liberty City, the wealthier your social circle and the crazier they usually are because they have become corrupted," he said.
Rockstar released more artwork and a teaser screenshot last week.
The DLC's planned for October 29. Expect more details and that debut trailer on these pages later this afternoon.
A lot of people complained about the more 'mature' style and tone of GTA IV stating the franchise had lost its fun factor.
For me I had the best of both worlds, gritty narrative (a la The Wire) and fun blowing stuff up and killing random passers by (well it is GTA).
This episode seems to cover all bases.
This shall be a download on Day 1! Mos Def!
At the risk of offending some people (sorry!), I'd say it was down to their lack of imagination. Personally, I kept on attempting some crazy antics that never got boring for me, especially when involving the awesome shotgun in L&D!

Agreed, its not as obvious as others but the Fun in GTA IV is there to be had, you just have to make it yourself rather than it being forced upon you.
I really loved GTAIV, but struggled with TLAD at first, couldn't get into the characters and they seemed sluggish in their big boots and leathers.
I started again from scratch and have been putting some time into it over the last few days and while not enjoying it as much as the main game (obviously they have more time and space to get to know the characters better in the main game), it's still top, top drawer stuff and amazing value for money.
I wouldn't say they lacked imagination though (the design and detail of the city, though based on NYC, is immense), it felt like they made a conscious decision to go down a certain path - from the type of humour and grittier style to realism and design of the city.
I'm not offended by thoughts of people who think otherwise though!

listen to di'angelo over here.
GTA4 is amazing. the fun is in the realism and physics and authentic immersive city feel.
tune into a good radio station, sun is shining. go for a spin.
the game oozes class.
anything can happen. i was in a 10-minute cop chase in a bus, got it jammed in a bollard and ran into an alley. the chopper followed me in and must've clipped a building and came crashing down directly on my head... instant death. unlucky.
Maybe they'll add go-carts to the track that's already there, it would be a fun 'mini-game' I'd also welcome new content to freshen up the city - new comedy acts and entertainment etc.
I love the gritty realism of GTA 4 but would welcome a few fun additions in this last download to freshen things up a little. They don't have to go OTT like Saints Row 2 but things like the skydiving and train riding seem very promising at this stage!

Aha!! Glad you cleared that up because I was going to edit my post and give you loads of s**t, fanboy style!!
season 2 (the docks) of the wire reminded me of GTA4 - the pollacks/immigrants etc. and that sugar factory sign (or whatever it was) was definately used in GTA4. would have been inspired from it. think the changed it (as they do) but its definately it.
and that mental ziggy c**t is a textbook GTA character!

I can see where the writers and Devs took their inspiration from (its pretty hard not to be inspired by The Wire though).
Season 2 is just classic television, so many lives intertwined with each other, where everyone fecks up eeryone else, sometimes without even realising it.
On a side note, Omar Little would be the greatest computer Game character ever!
Heck, if we can get a Game out of Lost then we can get a Game out of The Wire. LEts make it happen people !

Bring it on you Spud!
Oh yes, I believe you're north London too. I wonder who you support!!! Actually I watched the Man U game in Islington on Saturday - the people in the Elbow Rooms were not happy. Apart from the four vocal Man U fans, but they left pretty sharpish!!
I'm not an bottomnal hater though. Wenger's a bit of a cry baby, but amazing manager, great football and definitely deserved something from the game on Saturday.
It's good to see the London teams looking like winning something this year. It's going to be quite open, although I don't expect us to be top four at the end, 5/6th with Man City I reckon!

I'd agree with that. The top four won't change (different order, maybe), but there's going to be huge fight before anyone settles on a place - going to be a great season, as I see it.
Spurs are looking good - Kranjcar is a great signing - but, I still expect Villa to be fighting for 5th.

It'll be an exciting season for sure. Out of the "top 4", Liverpool look most likely to drop out, although Man U haven't impressed me either (we gifted them that victory!).
You seem a reasonable Spurs fan though, unlike my deluded Uncle! Good luck for the season, as long as you stay out of our way!
Villa? I'm not sure they've got the squad for 5th, but who knows. I don't think Liverpool have got the squad to win it either - I have no delusions of grandeur, but I thought Spurs had by far the better bench when we played them.
I didn't like bottomnal in the 1-0 days, although the fans have quickly forgotten about when they complain about other teams parking the bus! But football wise, they're probably the best in the league, but they need a viera/makele type player I think to complete the team, the kids will just get better and better though.
If we can keep the squad together for a few years, we'll just get better I think (although I thought that a couple of seasons back!). And we seem to have really deep pockets for a team that never gets in the Champion's League! And £2m for kranjcar is a bloody steal, although not as good as getting Campbell for freein '01!

No offence to Spurs, but I do think the keyword there is 'bench'. I do think that the match between Liverpool and Spurs was a case of Liverpool playing badly and Spurs playing well. I can't really think of any Spurs players that would make Liverpools first 11 - possibly Lennon....that's not to say that any match between them wouldn't be close.
Liverpool will be there or thereabouts - Chelsea and Man U have to be favourites. The biggest battle will be between 4th - 10th...so many teams looking good this season. Obviously Man City will push (not breaking the top 4 this season though) and I do think there'll be a surprise package this season - Stoke are a good shout, they've bought really well....Tuncay is a massive coup for them.

I thought Sunderland were a good shout to be the Fulham of this season. Good solid manager and some money behind them.
My point with the bench was more regarding Liverpool's lack off depth. If Spurs have a deeper squad and are 5/6/7th place material, that doesn't look too good for Liverpool challenging for the title. Especially as Rafa likes to rotate the team. He's a great tactition, but sometimes his team selections and his purchases just beggar belief (whenever I check out 606 forums, many liverpool seem to feel this way).
I think Liverpool have a massive gulf between their top players (Reina, Torres, Gerrard and maybe Mascherano) and the rest. I honestly wouldn't want anyone else apart from someone with a left foot and maybe a centre back for cover. Modric would stroll into their team. They need another striker too, so take your pick out of our front four! Maybe Keane could go back again, though Rafa would have to give him a decent run out this time!!
For bottomnal, Chelsea and Man U - there are plenty of players I'd like at Spurs.
Oh and maybe Glen Johnston, but Pompey saw Liverpool coming when they paid £18m for him!!

Ah, but Glen Johnson is one of Liverpools players that is actually doing the business at the moment! - could end up being a damn good investment of £18M.
I think it'll be interesting to see Liverpool when Aquilani is fit - Lucas is an utter liability....he's nowhere near good enough for Liverpool (would he even be a first-teamer at Birmingham or Hull?). After that, it's a matter of keeping the team fit - I don't honestly think that they could win the league at the moment, because I think they over-achieved last season and they've barely added to that team....that kind of level would be near-on impossible to sustain for two years.

Still, I do think they'll end up in the top-3.
True, if Johnson continues to do the business, he'll be worth it. I just think the prices are crazy now - £22m for Lescott? Really?? Spurs are more guilty of this than most - Bent and Bentley especially. I do think the top four will be the top four at the end of the season. But I agree, I think Liverpool over achieved last year and they've actually got a worse squad, although you could say Man U and bottomnal are weaker without Ronaldo and Adebayor!
Either way, it's going to be much more open I think, with a close battle among the top four, and any number of clubs fighting for uefa (or europa league) qualification and relegation.

Yeah, the Lescott deal was just a bit of a farce. Still, I think Heitinga is a brilliant bit of business by Everton....£6M for him is a bargain. He's prone to the odd lapse, but he's a great defender and - if Moyes can get the best out of him - he's better than Lescott.
I think bottomnal did the right thing in getting rid of Adebayor and I don't think that neither Man U or Liverpool had an awful lot of choice with Alonso and Ronaldo - they just wanted to go, so there was no point in keeping them. Still, I think all 3 will move on....I think Valencia is a decent player, but I don't think any one player can replace Ronaldo. We'll have to see with Aquilani, but he's supposed to be a clever player.
The market was ridiculous this summer - all thanks to Real Madrid and Man City.....having said that, the most crazy deal was Ibrahimovic for Eto'O plus £40M (or whatever it was) - madness.
It'll certainly be an interesting season - I think that all the big 4 will be dropping a lot more points this time round...there's plenty of competition.
Yeah, I don't think Adebayor will be a huge loss to bottomnal. And you couldn't really turn down the Madrid money unless Ronaldo really wanted to stay.
I don't think Alonso's felt too wanted since they tried to flog him in order to fund the Barry offer. Real really upped the ante this summer, I know people who work in the city who think the money is obscene - that must tell you something!
