In what's easily this morning's best corporate press release, Ubisoft's confirmed that Jade 'mmm' Raymond has been made head of the company's new Toronto Studio. No pictures were attached, but we've included our own. Enjoy.
The Assassin's Creed II exec producer will use her 12-years of industry experience to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Toronto studio, says Ubisoft.
We understand that ASBO's and restraining orders are being drafted up in the region right now. Maybe.
"I'm honored to be a part of Ubisoft's expansion into Toronto," said Raymond in the release. "I'm looking forward to building a strong and talented team to work on AAA games and new intellectual properties."
We look forward to seeing the obligatory team photo, with her at the front and all the 'non-beautiful' employees sulking in the background.
Wasnt that pic doing the rounds back when Assassins Creed was being released, hardly related to the story is it.
As for the article itself, its not surprising gamers are still associated as pocket mining nerds when the industries major news outlets jump on any information about an ok looking bird. Should we not judge her on, i dont know, the talent and quality of her work, rather than her looks. Im a red blooded male like everyone else but this is a bit silly I have to say.
I expect it's probably a pic from her press pack or something, it's definitely been around a while.
And gamers (particularly the hardcore) are associated with being backwards, introverted and awkward because that's what the majority are. Just because we (and I say that loosely since I don't know you from Adam) don't fit the stereotype doesn't mean that stereotype isn't based in fact.
oh be quiet - hardcore gamers are still predominately nerdy males, we embrace it! There's nothing wrong with appreciating a hottie like Jade's radiant beauty. It's perfectly healthy and not disrespectful. If you don't like it, you probably don't like hot gaming industry birds - the wholly nirvana and dream babe of any male gamer.
Stereotypes rule! Jade Raymond is well fit! I love how deadalus79 is questioning how a picture of Jade Raymond is related to a story about Jade Raymond.
Dajmin - for Christ's sake it's only a light hearted story! there aren't many birds who like proper videogames. It's good to have things in common! Nothing wrong with appreciating JR's positioning as a mascot for Ubi. Too much PC w*nk around today.
