The PSP version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will land in shops on October 20, Rockstar has confirmed.
It has also confirmed that the game will be released both on UMD and via the PSN as a digital download for PSP Go owners, just in case there was any doubt in your mind.

Rockstar said that the previously DS-exclusive rendition of GTA has been "specifically built for the PSP platform with upscaled widescreen graphics, enhanced lighting and animation." Get the irony there?
The video above is of the DS version since, weirdly, Rockstar is yet to show the game in any way.
the DS version was s**te. shooting locked on and driving even locked on to the road. the psp 'stories' games are leagues ahead technically. a straight port wouldnt do. it was acceptable on the DS because thats all it could handle and the pointer element made it 'quirky'. on psp though it would feel backwards. it plays like GTA1 on DS... except worse, more assisted and on rails.
Good to see it's not too far away and that it's getting a PSN release. Looking at getting a PSP Go!, someone has to. With this and Dissidia, GT, Motorstorm, LBP, Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid: PW, and Kingdom Hearts to name a few, my PSP is finally going to get playtime. Well my old PSP might not, but my Go! will...
I bet this version will get more publicity than the DS version which was a quality game and definitely one of my favourites. However if your going to advertise a game after 11 at night without showing off much gameplay footage prior to release your hoping for a miracle if you think its going to sell well.
unless they totally change the gameplay style its just not going to suit the PSP. then again China Town Wars was miles better than the crappy Stories games. They were like playing a mod some bloke knocked up over a weekend.
Wii boy. Your hearts in the right place, But Nintendo need devx like R* its a shame really that they chose the ds and not the wii for china town wars. Then again Manhunt 2 wasn't a bad sequel (nce you'd gotten rid of that red filter crap) and the definitive version of bully was definately the wii version.
Yes becasue it was hampered by being censored to buggery. However, the uncut version was a fantastic sequel and a horror game that actually made you feel uncomfortable playing it. Poweful and quite terrorfying. In a psychological videodrome, kind of way.
then again it probably did have enough rippling biceps and army men creaming hoo haw at each other to tickle your fancy. ay bottomhopper.
wow. gt moblie oct1st then gta chinatown wars on the 20th. good month for psp. and with mgs pw coming next year it seems that sony are coming good on their promise to properly support psp. which is a good thing as its a decent system which I do enjoy using (when a good game comes out for it) o and the return of wiiboy!! is this your 4th or 5th reincarnation now? good to have you back you babbling neo prophet!!!
