Modern Warfare 2 dev Infinity Ward is currently pimping out the new Special Ops mode for its bound-to-be-awesome shooter due this November.
You can read our impressions of the new mode from Gamescom here. But in the meantime community man Robert Bowling has given out a screen of the game being demoed that shows the new lobby system. Altogether, "ooooohhhhh".

Do you know what I would REALLY like? it's really simple and hasn't appeared on any of the COD games. The ability to add your OWN NAMES instead of player 2, player 3, player 4 etc for split screen and local co-op. It just makes it more personal and would make a big difference when playing mates. They probably won't add it to Modern Warfare 2, too advanced of a feature probably.
2 player f**king online for missions is a joke, all games should have 4 player online for minigames and missions, its just gay otherwise just playing with one other person.
dont like the direction this game is going in. selling out slightly. f**king dual wielding, fiddy-cent, hollywood set peices, bulls**t staged mountain climbing, snowmobiles and the increased price.
im sure the finished game will play great. just wont have the classic status of the original. has too much of a whiff of cheese about it to reach such heights.
hope this doesnt do as well as expected, bring down the developer and the publisher a peg. sadly it will. and they will think they are on the right track.

Am I right that Modern Warfare 2's only co-op play will be two player, tiny (Infinity Ward boast one can be completed in seconds!!!) 'special ops' maps?
