Nintendo patents another (bizarre) controller

A soft American football controller
Nintendo's controller-making team has been cooking up more crazy ideas for how to play Wii games.

First it was teddy bear and bike controllers, then more recently an inflatable cushion thing, and now Nintendo's patents reveal a spongy American football controller.

According to the documents (via Siliconera), the soft ball has slots for the Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus, and the Nunchuk too. With all that in place, the ball would be able to detect your movements as you jog on the spot, make throwing motions and smash the shit out of your living room ornaments.

We've embraced the new motion control age, but we'll probably sit this one out.

hmm..., or maybe I could make my own just-as-good controller by stripping out a real american football...

Probably so if someone else has the idea, they can sue their asses for a change.

Well it hasn't been given the all clear yet, just patent, much like lots of thing's, nintendo are just making sure no one else can make one (like anyone would want to), anyway it mightn't make it outside america, just like that silly finger monitor which I doubt will be released outside japan.
