Take-Two's lush crime spree in action
Take-Two's delivered Gamescom media for Mafia II.

Like almost everything good, the open-world crime effort's been delayed into next year. Fingers crossed it's worth the wait.

Looking good so far! The original was a pretty good game in it's own right, but I had the pc version then and it seemed abit buggy at the best of times..

This looks really good. The voice-acting especially sounds good, and from what I've seen of the game it looks like it's going to be an interesting game.

As always, my only complaint with every third person game is, why don't developers stop pi&&ing around and let the gamer choose to play in third- or first-person. Third-person utterly lacks atmosphere for me and is far less engaging. For example, in a battle, in third-person a guy I control is getting shot at, in first-person, I'M getting shot at! If racing and flying games can give us the option, and have done so for 20-odd years, it's certainly time shooters and RPGs did the same.

I loved the original. Don't think I ever finished it though. Got really annoyed on one of the missions near the end and gave up for a bit, then other stuff happened and I never went back. Shame. Maybe I'll install it again...

But this one is looking even sweeter. I love the culture and the sense of humour it has. The teaser videos have always been good for a grin.

Would it be the mission with you having to kill guys in an alley but your idiot AI pal runs in with his baseball bat and gets constantly killed? Drove me insane, I loved the game to. I have really high expectations for the sequel, looks stunning

The game would be s**t if it was 1st person view. 1st person view is only good for shoot-em ups and I for one am bored out of my skull with 1st person shooters.

It might be the mission you have to shoot your way out the church, that mission did my t**s in!

The prison level was pretty solid, you had to battle all of these homeless people to make it to the top, and then when you got there you had to assassinate someone from like a mile away. You got one or two shots tops and if you messed up you had to do the WHOLE thing again, battling the crazy homeless guys and dying another 20 times.

And let's not mention the racing level (which I did finally complete, without the patch that let you lower the difficulty, but it probably took over 100 turns... I was so proud).

Great game though, and I'll definitely be picking up the sequel.
