Sega launches FM2007 early

Retail ignores Football Manager 2007's official street date. Was there a bung involved?
Sega has been forced to bring the release date of Football Manager 2007 forward by two days, because certain stores have broke the official street date of October 20.

A statement from the company said, "SEGA and Sports Interactive would like to announce that the official street date for Football Manager 2007 on PC / Mac has been brought forward to Wednesday, October 18th.

"As a result of certain retail outlets ignoring the official release date of October 20th, SEGA and Sports Interactive have acted to ensure that Football Manager 2007 is available to all of our loyal fans. We are in the process of communicating this new date to all of our retail partners."

"Football Manager 2007 is available from today, after several retailers began selling the game ahead of its official street date this Friday (20th)."

surely this is the start of the xmas release season, so we can expect more of the big name games to be released a day or 2 early, as they always are.
